Nice Southern Comfort Food. - Edit
I was in Louisville for 2 weeks and went to V-Grits 3 times. The menu has a lot of Southern comfort food that's a bit on the heavy side. My favorite meal was the Rise and Shine Tacos with vegan sausage at the Sunday Brunch. I also really liked their potato salad and gyro. I wasn't as big of a fan of the Junebug which is a vegan country fried steak or their Mac&Cheese. Neither did it for me, although I'll admit I'm SUPER picky about Mac&Cheese :)

Yummy - Edit
Super friendly staff. Walk up to register and order then sit down. It’s a little slow (especially if you’re hungry) but the wait isn’t that long. I’ve had a couple different things here and all enjoyable. If you go for lunch instead of dinner I think the food is fresher/better. LOVE the Mac n cheese. They also have brunch on Sunday’s that I’ve been to once and the biscuits and gravy is SOOOO GOOD! This is definitely my favorite vegan place in Louisville for lunch/dinner.

New favorite restaurant - Edit
100% vegan food with SO many options! I had the Cuban sandwich with Mac and cheese, while my sister had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich special with the fried Mac and cheese bites. The Cuban was DELICIOUS, and the Mac and cheese was good. Not a strong cheesy flavor, so I really liked the fried bites because they came with marinara. The restaurant is so cute, full of REAL plants and reusable silverware (disposable cups though). This is my favorite restaurant now, I will be bringing everyone to it from now on. (I also want to try a vegan hot brown!!)

Absolutely Awesome - Edit
Very much enjoy V-Grits & False Idol, their food, service, staff & restaurant is fantastic, an A+++. We live about 50+ miles and it's definitely worth the trip. We've been 6 times over the past month and we don't normally eat out that much especially out of town. They have a variety of menu items. We have tried something different each time and they have all been great. They have a terrific beer selection, husband really enjoys them. I'm not much of a beer drinker and I've really liked them as well.

The V(grits)ery Best Vegan Place to Eat - Edit
This is the very best vegan place I have ever eaten. I drove two hours to eat here and I will make the trip again. The food is so wonderful. The mac and cheese was honestly life changing. The staff was super friendly. I really appreciated that they were advertising free adoptions at the local animal shelter. The atmosphere was great and the artwork was so beautiful (art by Sarah Tidwell).

I’d eat here 3 times a day if I lived in Louisville - Edit
Ok I might be exaggerating slightly, but this is a really great restaurant. I travel across the US for work and try new vegan restaurants when I can, and this is really one of the best. They make everything themselves and you can tell - everything is so flavorful and doesn’t taste like generic vegan food with the same old brands of protein or cheese. They also have a brewery and a nice casual atmosphere. It’s the type of place I’d frequent with my friends on a Friday night if I lived in the area.

Good Vibes Great Food! - Edit
I had the crab macaroni and cheese! The crab cake served on top with remoulade was divine! My husband had the pimento cheese steak sandwich which was even better! It was so hearty, and melt in your mouth good. The sour ale had a refreshing, almost citrus flavor, which was a very nice change! I found myself wishing there was a kid’s menu for our two toddlers, but the servers were more than happy to bring us extra plates and bowls, and there was plenty of food for my husband and I to share with them. Not all the entrees are available if you go before 5pm so keep that in mind! I cannot wait to go back for dinner and try one of those! I definitely recommend giving this place a try. The service we received was wonderful, everyone was so friendly and down to earth.
