Amazing food - Edit
I have tried almost every menu item and they are all really tasty, the menu also has a good range of food. Wait time can be a little long and some of the items are really expensive.

Check to-go orders - Edit
We got V-grits twice during our mini vacation in Louisville - once dine-in and once carry out. Food was fantastic and staff were friendly. Pumpkin soup was truly amazing and deserved more than to be served in a plastic to-go container (when dining in). Harvest wrap was light, fresh and satisfying. Pub fries stayed crispy and warm despite being covered in toppings. There was an extremely generous portion of sausage on the fries, making it an even better value for the price. Two of us sat at a four top and we still had problems getting all the to go containers with lids and flip tops to fit. Definitely took down the experience of the really good food. Ordered cheesesteak to-go on our last night in Louisville, hold the giardineria. When we unpacked it back at the Airbnb found they "held" everything else - no onions, no peppers, no BBQ sauce. This was obviously a disappointing end to our trip, especially since we we had built up high expectations from our first visit.

Good portions of good choices - Edit
A little bit of everything available, comfort foods is right. The mac and cheese was the best i’ve ever had and my nachos were absolutely massive for $10. My partner also tried some of their alcohol drinks and liked it, and I got a pineapple upside down cake cream soda and oh my god !!! I tried it because it sounded so interesting and it was soooo good. The inside is really cute and you get the choice to order entirely by phone and keep open a tab which was great

A gift to vegans - Edit
This place blew my mind. Everything on the menu sounded amazing, but we got to try the loaded Mac, loaded fries, and the Nashville chicken sandwich and it was all so good! The dining room was so chill and cozy, there’s something for everyone here. Possibly the best vegan restaurant in America.

By far one of the best vegan joints we’ve ever been to! - Edit
My husband and I travel a lot. We are making a special trip back to explore more of Louisville and get more v-grits. The Philly, the mac & cheese, and our desserts were flawless!

Diverse Menu - Edit
V-Grits is a household staple for us! Dishes are super tasty and, of course, 100% vegan! I particularly like the extensive and diverse menu, which allows me to try different things each time I go. My personal favorites are the Reuben Egg Rolls and the Chips & Queso for appetizers and the CrunchWrap and Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich for entrees. I recently tried the Caribbean Jerk Platter which was both tasty and very filling.

Ok spot - Edit
Not my best dining experience, maybe they just had an off night or something. The soup was super salty, probably from sitting in a steam table all day I bet. I had to go find someone to take it off the check since they dont have table service, or check on you after running your food, or even have an order counter (they use that QR code, fill out a website to order system thats been popular since when covid was an issue but it seems masks were optional with customers and staff then why we still gotta order with our phones? /rant) so I wasn't sure who to talk to. Kinda weird.

Great brewery! - Edit
Came here for a refreshment and snacks. The beer is fantastic and actually at appropriate ABVs. Each purchase of beer donates 25 cents to a local non-profit. The non-profits are labeled underneath each beer and include animal rescues and community organizations. We shared the nachos supreme - delicious!

Mandatory travel stop - Edit
My husband and I are back in Louisville to visit my mother-in-law. We went to V-grits for dinner tonight and we’re blown out of the park. Everything was absolutely delicious. My mother-in-law isn’t vegan and said if she hadn’t known it was all plant based, she wouldn’t have been able to tell. We’re going at least one more time before heading back to Illinois.

Amazing food & true southern hospitality - Edit
Fantastic flavorful food paired with fresh beer and fun staff too. I visited alone and it exceeded expectations. The space is open with cozy booths and a counter where I sat. I had lots of questions which the staff answered and their suggestions where on the mark. The place has a great vibe and is so welcoming.

Food & Vibes - Edit
We were passing through Louisville and are now so glad that we stopped to give V-Grits a try.
Read moreWith such a vast menu, finally picking what we wanted to order was the hardest part. With covid, their ordering system has you go to the counter to order, then they’ll give you a time range to come back and pick up your bag.
There is roof top seating available along with a couple tables around the front walk of their building. The roof top was super nice, but we did have to wait a little bit to get an open table.
We ordered a burger with Mac and a sandwich with a side salad. The burger and sandwich were amazing. However they make their Seitan, it’s perfection. I though was not a fan of the mac & cheeze, even though the woman at the counter suggested it and said it was one of their most popular items. The flavoring was just off for me. My partner got the “side” salad and it was massive and good.
Pricing was pretty typical for what we normally experience.
Wait time was around 30 minutes.
They do also sell alcohol. Definitely beer, maybe other things too.
Pros: All vegan
Cons: Limited Seating

Super good - Edit
I got the kind of a big dill tacos. Whoever thought of putting a fried dill pickle in a taco was a genius! Got Mac and cheese as my side, which was the best non boxed Mac I’ve probably ever eaten. Hubs also got the bbq sandwich which looked great as well. And because I was in a place that I’ll probably never be again, I got the Nashville hot steak strip basket as well. So much food! I will say that I thought the steak strips could have been smaller and thinner, as they kind of tore my mouth apart trying to bite into them. But no complaints other than that! No dine in for Covid
