menu is a lie

I ordered a BBQ chicken rice set and got a stir-fried chicken with tomatoes though it was written in the menu as "fried chicken with BBQ sauce." When I asked them they said I have to order the grill chicken rice set to get somewhat "fried chicken". Really disappointed.

too much oil!

We both had the rice noodle soup. It was very tasty with plenty of noodles and broth at only 40k dong. We were abit dubious as to whether the stock was actually meat stock, we did ask and they said no vegetarian, but still not 100% sure!' Lots of options to choose from though!

EDIT:have been here a few times since and each time all the tofu doshes have been swimming in oil. The staff also don't seem to care at all.

Pros: lots of vegetarian/vegan options, cheap

Cons: potential use of meat stock., very oily food.

ok food

the rice noodle with tofu and peanuts was an ok eat when arriving in hanoi. i wasn’t overwhelmed though and had way better food in hanoi (and vietnam!) later. prices are great though for the area, especially as veggie places seem a bit overpriced.

Pros: price, location

Cons: choices , taste a bit bland

Altough a bit westernized, still great food

V-Cuisine is a small restaurant in the backpacker district that has two pages of vegetarian options. From what I could see a lot of them were or could be made vegan. Most mains are around 40,000 VND which is reasonable considering that most spots offering vegan food in this area are really expensive. Although the food is a bit westernized, I really enjoyed it. If you are in the area and in need of affordable vegan food then I'd definitely stop by. My man had the "Rice noodle and tofu mixed with sauce" and also really enjoyed it.

Pros: Most mains are around 40,000 VND, Easy to find, Vegan options

Cons: Westernized

Excellent

The staff is very nice, I had the tofu with pepper sauce every time because I can't get over it. The portion are great. Very cheap too. Two pages of vegeterian foods. The restaurant is near to Vietnam Backpackeur Hostel (if you can't find it)
