Come for coffee/tea and dessert - Edit
Vegan food options are just ok. Nori rice wrap lacked flavor, panini was good but greasy.

Fancy - Edit
There were about 4 vegan dessert options, an açai bowl, a sandwich on offer plus smoothies on offer. I had a smoothie and an oatmeal cookie and both were perfectly nice. It was pretty expensive, but that’s expected in the area I guess

Good but limited vegan options - Edit
Compared to the size of the menu, there are relatively few vegan options, but they are good. Recommend the vegan chocolate cake. Note that their online menu seems out of date and doesn't have many of the vegan options listed there. Better to get the menu in person. I will try to upload pics of the menu in the future

Great coffee but pricey - Edit
Pumpkin pie was yum. Coffee was good & my favourite part was the vibe. Huge place, lots of places to sit. Sat and read my book for an hour and didn’t feel pressured to leave.

Delish but limited options and pricey - Edit
I honestly LOVED my experience at Urth! I got the portobello panini and it was probably one of the best vegan paninis i’ve ever had. I added avocado which was worth it (Wouldve slacked without it). I also got the vegan pumpkin pie was was AMAZING as well as a matcha with almond milk! I would like to see a tad more options (maybe more tempeh/tofu options) but i overall liked it!

Yummy Option - Edit
Super delicious Vegan Portobello Panini. They have Oat milk and vegan desserts. Limited vegan options- but super tasty options- vegan almond cheese & vegan pesto. Biggest downside was the super long wait.

Pizza Huevos Rancheros - Edit
Pizza Huevos Rancheros was the only vegan option served for brunch. It was good. Delicious actually, although it was pricey ($16). It was also a good serving size that might feed two people if you really stretch it. The eggs in the original pizza were substituted for vegan eggs, likely made from something like “Just Egg”.

Expensive, crowded, limited vegan options - Edit
I think my coffee came out to be $10 after tax. It was good but not great. The chili was good, but I’ve had better. Couldn’t find anything else vegan on the menu that appealed to me so I ordered an outrageously priced side of fruits.

Pizza, Pizza! - Edit
Urth has been little slow to providing more vegan options over the years but they do have vegan desserts, salads, sandwiches and a few lunch entrees. Although the vegan pizza primavera is their star dish and it’s delicious and filling! Add it with avocado for extra goodness.

Vegan? How? - Edit
Options extremely limited to call itself vegan friendly. Maybe they have vegan specials on some days but went to check it out and unless you want a smoothie for lunch idk what to tell you

Long wait, crowded, almost nothing vegan - Edit
Their menu had one vegan item with “New” next to it so I don’t know how this restaurant made it into Happy Cow. We got a take-out coffee and it took 22 minutes to get it. Coffee was nothing special. Would never go back.

I've eaten here several times and have gotten soymilk cappucinos here numerous times. Here's my Santa Monica Urth Caffe update.
Read moreRecently they began offering a pizza with pesto, veggies, and vegan cheese (feta-like). We tried it and it was pretty tasty. Cost $15 or 16 bucks.
The vegan pumpkin slice is good, but the vegan chocolate cake is too sweet for me. Soy cappucino is always tasty.
I did not like the veg sushi rolls -- they're pre-made and kept in a fridge, so when it comes out it's cold (not good).
Gets busy at all meal times, so expect a wait.
Pros: servers always friendly, no frills, casual
Cons: not all veg

charging for vegan milks - Edit
While I'm stoked that they offer lots of choices for milk alternatives i was shocked to see they charged me a dollar extra, without warning me, when i selected coconut milk for my cappuccino. Soy milk was .65 cents. I'm not using their regular milk and already paying premium, seems excessive.

Overrated cafe - Edit
We decided to get Urth Caffe on Friday night when we wanted a low key dinner. We haven't tried it since living in the area, and thought it would be relatively cheap and easy. First off, we got there around 7:30, and the place was absolutely packed. The line doesn't move terribly quickly nor does food come out too quickly. I spent a summer during college working at Panera Bread, and this felt like a slower Panera, with more expensive prices and a few organic and vegan options. I'd choose Panera any day over this.
Read moreWe ordered, finally found a seat, and couldn't get anyone to clean the table we were sitting at. I even asked someone, he sort of said yes, and then nothing. We finally moved to another table, not quite close enough to a space heater to be very warm. As I said, food took longer than expected to be delivered - a solid 15 minutes. For a grab and go type place, this is long.
I had the half sandwich/bowl of soup option, including the grilled veggie with pesto sandwich and veggie chili. The veggie chili was hearty, but mostly full of beans, not veggies. The pesto sandwich had a good amount of veggies and pesto in it (eggplant, squash, etc.), but still a bit pricey considering. My fiancé had the nori plum rice wrap, and I hate to say it, but this was almost inedible. They were 5-6 large pieces of "sushi", and all you could taste within it was some type of mayo. I don't see that included on the description, but it really wasn't good.
We had to go across the street for gelato afterward, as neither of us quite felt full or satisfied. We won't be back.

Good Boba Smoothies... - Edit
I really liked their strawberry-banana-orange boba smoothie, it's Vegan [but always double check]. Overall it's a nice place, but I agree, it would be nice if they had even more Vegan options.

What do vegans eat here besides chocolate cake? - Edit
warning their soy cheese is not vegan. I enjoy getting their Thai Iced Tea with Rice milk blended. Their vegan cookie sucks. Its a decent place to grab a tea, though. Needs to be more vegan friendly.
