Mostly Ur-banal - Edit
Having perused their extensive menu, I was dubious as to whether they would be able to execute everything to a decent standard, and unfortunately my instincts proved correct as it’s safe to say that this was not the finest Indian meal I’ve had in recent memory. It was punctuated with a few bright sparks such as the kothmbir vada and the bhatura, otherwise it was all a little flat. The kochori, ragda pattice and the pakora made a passing grade, but the sabudana vada was gummy, the pakoda was dry and the majority of the other items were a non-event.

Great food & secret hatch in the back - Edit
I popped in here yesterday as I was in the area and looking for dinner. It's not exactly in a place you'll come to often, unless you live in the neighbourhood or are staying in one of the nearby hotels. There's ample free parking nearby, which is nice. The menu is extensive and has Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes. Urban Tadka is a pure veg restaurant, so there's no animal flesh in any of the dishes, nor are eggs used. Dairy, though, is still used in many dishes, but there are plenty of vegan options on the menu. I tried some of the dals and the tandoori platter. Portions are very big, so don't order too much. Coincidentally, if you're here for lunch, go to the back of the building, where Urban Tadka has a kind of "pop-up" lunch counter, which does a brisk trade in pani puris and other easy to take away dishes at bargain prices.
