Perfect with knowledgeable owners - Edit
All the food is amazing. One of the owners is vegetarian and she is very knowledgeable about vegan food. Vegan dishes are clearly marked but they will also edit other dishes to make them vegan. Best place to go in this area.

For anyone who likes indian food, this restaurant is amazing. Owners are vegan, they understand the concept, and if you don't know what to order, they'll help you - and I've never not liked a food recommendation from them.

Some of the tastiest vegan Indian food we have ever had - Edit
The owner was very knowledgeable about vegan options and offered us more dishes than those on the menu. We had a fried cauliflower starter which was delicious. For main, we opted for a banana blossom and coconut curry, a dahl and a cauliflower and pea curry. We had rice and puris and a special dessert. The flavours were fabulous. Definitely amongst the best Indian food we have ever had. Well worth seeking this restaurant out.

As some of us eat vegan and gluten-free we were so happy that they were amazingly accommodating and made sure we neither felt left out nor had to cut back on exploring rich, authentic Indian flavors. They even seem to have created some veganised dishes on a wimp just so that we could experience a few similar special dishes than our non-vegan family. It was fabulous - the kind of trustworthy and knowledgable support any vegan wishes for when visiting a non-vegan place!
The owner came by a lot and took very good care of us, we alredy learned so much more about the Indian cuisine talking to her.
Everyone absolutely loved it and my friend even said THIS WAS THE BEST DINNER EXPERIENCE HE EVER HAD.
The location has a lot of atmosphere and I can imagine how wonderful the outdoor and rooftop space must feel in summer time.
(The only thing we regret is not giving a higher tip since we simply miscalculated upon paying 🙈)
We will definitely come back and show this place to friends and family when we are in Portugal again for holidays!

We really enjoyed UKI. The first evening I had the gobi Manchurian (spicy! ❤️), roti, and the gobi matar keema. The next evening I really loved the aloo bhurji and poori. The staff was very attentive and the hostess and chef were wonderfully friendly. Highly recommended! Lots of delicious menu items marked as vegan.

Read moreOur party of 5 had the tikka masala, Railway Lamb, chana masala and Tadka Dhal. All meals were amazing.
The star meal of the evening was Manchurian Cauliflower, it was worth the visit just for that, you must have that, you won’t be disappointed.
The restaurant was great, spacious and a little quirky but what made it more special was that the staff and owners were all fantastic, so friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended

So the food we got was tasty and different to other indian restaurants we've been to. Vegan options are clearly labelled. That's why I'd day 4 Stars.
Read moreService was overall friendly. At the beginning the Chef came to our table and offered us to select some dishes for us according to our taste. Be aware that this option may come with costs you're not aware of because you are not told the prices. A little bowl of rice as a side already costs 4-5€, bread 4€.
We picked something from the menu although the Chef tried to talk us into taking his option.
Although I ordered my food not spicy and my boyfriend his plate spicy, both were really spicy. Make sure to clarify this before!
Side note: They also have an aquarium with too many fish in the restaurant.

We were looking for a coffee shop and found this restaurant instead. The food was incredible. Service was outstanding. I had a spicy cauliflower appetizer and an okra dish with rice. They made me vegan poori for my bread and it was piping hot. My friend got a special lemonade made with mint and cumin. Vegan food was clearly marked, but some nonvegan dishes were marked vegan because they could be made vegan. The staff was very knowledgeable about properties of foods and we received some education.

Although it’s not a fully vegan/vegetarian place, it’s very welcoming (the restaurant itself, the staff) & there’s a lot of vegan/veg dishes. The staff was kind enough to promptly ask if we were vegan or had any sort of special diet. The food is divine. Will come back!

Authentic Indian food - Edit
I eat here regularly and am never disappointed. There are many vegan options on the menu and the chef and his team understand veganism and, as others have said, can veganise dishes or make something special to order. The food is really authentic and the chef takes time to explain the origin of the dish, the spices used and even the traditional time it is eaten - I think it gives you a great dining experience. It's one of the few places in Algarve where dosas are served and there are always specials to try.

United Kitchens of India has the best vegetarian options when looking for spicy Indian food. The owner’s wife is vegetarian so no wonder he excels every time.
