Sad that it closed :(

Really disapointed that Umami closed. The food was really good and it was nice to finally have a 100% vegan restaurant in Biel.

It was promising

Despite the cold atmosphere I ate there several times. The food was delicious.
It was nice to have an all vegan restaurant in Biel :(

Véganes Restaurant in Biel

Es war an der Zeit dass ein veganes Restaurant in Biel eröffnet wird.
Man sollte sich unbedingt Zeit nehmen und hier vorbei schauen.
Die Bedingungen ist freundlich und das Essen mega lecker.

La cuisine végétalienne n'est pas réservée qu'aux Vegan! GO!

Avoir un resto 100% vegan dans une petite ville suisse est une vraie chance. Que celui-ci soit en plus véritablement délicieux est un pur bonheur!
Pour ne rien gâcher, le personnel est super sympa! Que vous soyez vegan OU NON, n'hésitez pas à pousser la porte de l'établissement. Ce nouveau restaurant mérite toute votre attention et je ne peux qu'espérer qu'il fasse long feu.

Bon plats et terrasse sympa dans la vieille ville de Bienne

Bon restaurant, bien situé et qui offre une carte avec du choix et des plats principalement asiatiques. Les entrées peuvent être mangées comme des "tapas" (Boa, Goa, Wan tan, samosa,...).

First vegan restaurant in Biel/Bienne

The staff speaks at least english, french and german. You have the menu at least in french and in german. The food was really tasty. It's the first 100% vegan restaurant in town.

Pros: 100% vegan, Tasty food , Lots of different options

Bluffant

N'étant pas un habitué de la restauration végétarienne, je suis surpris de la qualité des plats proposés. La fausse viande (provenant de la compagnie suisse "The Green Mountain") est bluffante !

Pros: Nourriture vraiment bonne, Il y a du choix !, Le personnel est très sympa

Cons: Établissement petit, Peu adapté pour les groupes (Nous étions 5), Carte uniquement en allemand

Super lecker und zuvorkommend

Haben dieses Restaurant hier auf HappyCow entdeckt und danach gleich getestet. Das Essen war mega lecker und der nette (spanische) Mann war sehr zuvorkommend. Da wir kein Gericht auf der Karte wirklich kannten, haben wir einfach auf gut Glück unsere Gerichte bestellt. Jedes einzelne hat uns sehr überzeugt und wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen.

Pros: Nur veganes Essen, Sehr freundliche Bedienung, Super leckeres Essen

Yu Mami’s so fine…

Umami offers a wide variety of vegan Asian dishes. I tried their fluffy Bao and Drunken Udon Noodles. They were both delicious, but I’m still extremely suspicious of their “Seitan” beef. It tasted and felt so much like meat, that I was (still am) 99% sure it was meat. I asked the waitress 3x , but she guaranteed it was plant based. Another downside, was that I was over charged for both dishes: 1x Bao CHF 07.50.- received 2 paid CHF 12.50.-, Drunken Udon CHF 21.50.- paid CHF 24.50.- 😒
