TRASH

I ordered a chicken burger with fries and they gave me the worst chicken sandwhich i've ever had. The chicken burger was all batter and the chicken was grey. Also they forgot my fries. The people there don't speak english and it was like pulling teeth to get them to understand me. Place just over all sucked and I will never go back and niether should anyone else.

Pros: nothing, nothing, cold water

Cons: Food, Service, Forgot my Food

Last Choice

I usually only eat U Needa Pita at night when they are the only ones open around here with vegan options available (their hours are good) but most of the staff is horrid, particularly the skinniest guy that works there. He has the worst customer service and I’m never satisfied when he serves me. He’s very rude and stingy on toppings and just sucks. The food is nothing special. They run out of toppings regularly and that guy won’t cut more. I usually get the vegan poutine and falafel pita which are both nothing special. I wouldn’t recommend U Needa Pita unless it was the only choice. There for sure is cross contamination and the staff don’t care to be well versed in whats vegan and whats not. The wait time is also usually ridiculously long.

I have been coming here for many years and nothing has changed. There is one guy who is very nice to me and knowledgeable (only exception) but he usually works in the back when he should be face of the establishment.

False advertising of quinoa burger (NOT VEGAN)

I ate here for the first time last week and I was discussing vegan options. They told me the quinoa burger and vegan poutine were vegan options. On the menu it has a V next to vegan options which is listed next to the burger as well as on the backsplash when the burger pops up saying " VEGAN" than after eating it, I returned a week later to find that the quinoa burger isn't vegan and only the patty is (the staff had explained after I asked). Complete false advertising. Really sad to see that so many vegans and myself have tried and posted about this quinoa burger believing it's vegan and it's not.

Pros: Vegan poutine is in face vegan

Cons: False advertising

It states on their menu that the bun is not vegan and to request a pita, salad or rice bowl...

Convenient and Delicious :)

I love this place and frequent it often. There's a bunch of vegan options, including a tasty quinoa burger, vegan burritos, falafel, and even poutine. They have daiya mozzarella style shreds on hand which is the same price as regular cheese...oh and the gravy is superb! (and vegan.)
The only con is that most of the time you'll have to ask that they wipe down the grill before preparing your meal which always makes me feel like a pain. Oh, and the prices are a bit ridiculous but personally I think it's worth it for vegan junk food right around the corner.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Loyalty stamp card thingy

Cons: Expensive , Cross contamination

Best pita place in St. Catharines

This is one of my favourite places. They have an extensive vegan menu including falafel and hummus pitas, veggie burrito, salads, nachos, loaded chili fries and my favourite...vegan poutine! :) All these items can also be customized to your preferences, and I've heard they are going to be adding to the vegan menu soon. We usually go to the Glendale location because the parking is better than downtown, but we have been to both locations. The staff are always nice to us as well. It's great to see a non-vegan restaurant chain that understands what vegan means and has options beyond just a veggie burger.

Pros: poutine!, many topping choices

Cons: hard to find parking at the downtown one, a bit pricey

Don't eat here

They use the same grill and utensils for meat and veg items. Deep fried items (fries, falafel etc.) seem to be cooked in the same oil as meat. I have even been served a chicken burrito after ordering the veggie one. The prep area doesn't look very clean. Service is incredibly slow if there is even just one other person ahead of you in line. And for a place that sells 'cheap' food to attract the college crowd, the prices are insane! $10 for a hummus pita (with no meat or cheese, which is the expensive stuff) and small fries is not exactly cheap. You could go to a place like Vaughan's or Merchant Ale House and get a huge serving that is completely veg-safe for only a few dollars more (not to mention better quality food). I will never eat here again after the chicken incident. All vegetarians and vegans should avoid u need a pita out of principle.

Pros: None

Cons: Expensive, Persistent cross-contamination , Poor service

It's Ok

An expanding faster food chain which does offer a few veg options. Be aware many are cooked side by side , with the same utensils as meat offerings. Sodium content in most of what is serves as veg options is high to very high. Staff did change gloves when asked, although some are more willing than others. For mixed diet outings it does hit the mark with something for everyone.

Pros: Lots Of Veg Toppings, Faster Food, Can See You Meal Being Prepared

Cons: High Sodium, Pricey For What Your Getting, High Fat

Great Vegan Options!!

This place is great for vegans! They have your usual falafel or hummus pitas, but they also have a portabella burger which is delicious, and vegan poutine which can also be loaded up with all kinds of veggies. I like that this place gets that you can carry vegan food and people will buy it. Its nice to be able to have lunch with non-veg friends, and everyone has options and leaves satisfied. The food is great, the workers are friendly and the prices are decent. I eat here once or twice a week.
