I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner and we were not disappointed !! I had the ‘chicken’ ciabatta and it was to die for. He had the cheeseburger and said it was good (he is very hard to impress, so take that as a sign!!!!).

Also, the people that served us were absolutely lovely. A service!!! We were seated and our order taken promptly and the seats were comfy😄

The buttr chikn roti rolls were very good, even though there wasn't a strong buttr chikn taste, and the chikn had a bit of a fatty texture, but accompanied by a very good garlic sauce.
The beef nachos were very good, the corn chips remained crispy. There was a bit of chilli powder, but really nice garlic sauce.

Killing time in the area and found this absolute gem on Happy Cow. Super relaxed and friendly. Outdoor and indoor areas. Awesome staff. I ordered the chicken ciabatta. I am so full! Absolutely delicious!! Definitely going back to try another dish or two.

We tried the arancini as a small entree. Then we had the bap buns, the tacos (self-roll) and a mushroom burger. All dishes were great, though the arancini were way too small to share (we'll know for next time!). Healthy, fresh, light yet filling. The prices were all very reasonable. The service was also great 👍

We ordered “beef” nachos to share. The guacamole was so nice, one of the best vegan nachos I’ve had. Then I had the chicken massaman curry. It is served with jasmine rice. It’s huge and tasty. My partner enjoyed the cheeseburger with chips.
Read more2019 When we arrived, it was a bit difficult to know where to sit or how to get the attention. We were seated and it was good to see some mocktails. I had a sober mojito which was good. We went for the shared plates the arancini balls, the loaded chips and the moorish spices cauliflower. We then had the dessert (chocolate and peanut butter dessert) it was a good size. I’d like to try the nachos next time.

Last night, we enjoyed duck roti rolls, Korean bao buns and the chicken massaman curry. The presentation is lovely as well as the flavours. Comparing the flavours to other Asian fusion restaurants it was comparable but cheaper (which is always nice). I will be back!

Went a couple days ago and the food was really good. I had the duck roti rolls and the side of chips. The rolls were really really good, I actually really loved them. The chips were also really great, good coating. There were also burgers served which looked good. The menu itself is quite small but the food tasted great so I would definitely come again.

I really recommend coming for great food, drinks and vibes. The food is so reasonably priced and the food is unbelievablely amazing(I always seem to forget). On a busy night you might need to book otherwise you might have to wait a bit, there is a section just for drinks but that is always packed. My favourite is the butter chicken roti and arancini.

staff were super friendly, food came out quickly. i wasnt the biggest fan of what i ordered, just personal preference on the sauce i think. i prefer roti to be a bit crunchier, but it was good otherwise. definitely going to come back to try something else!

Unfortunately the indoor/outdoor area (it is indoor because of all the plastic blinds containing the heat and air, yet it gets away with being outdoor as it has louvers up high), is really smoky. One of the staff said, "sorry its a dive bar, it's one of the only places smokers can stay warm and smoke."
There is no smoking in the indoor dining area thank goodness! However, I would like to think that this place would be just as awesome and just as popular without letting people smoke in the drinking area. Prioritising smoking in the drinking area seems weird when most vegans don't smoke and cigarettes aren't vegan.

Read moreThere was a Korean fried chicken burger which the menu described as having a "Kim J bun" because Korea clearly = dictator. Emailed the restaurant about it afterwards and the owner said it was meant to be intended as an insult, but agreed it was unnecessary and "potentially offensive", and apologised for "any offence unintentionally created".
That is a weak non-apology, and the fact it was intended to be insulting. Spend your money somewhere else.

I’ve been back here a couple of times recently and the food was still very good. Because Tyranny is above all a bar, there’s a good number of shareable items on the menu in addition to mains. Three dishes was more than enough for two, and the massaman curry , duck roti and jackfruit roti, crispy tofu, jackfruit nachos and roast cauliflower were all very tasty. I’ve always chosen to sit in the indoor section, but the bar pumps loud music into this small space too, rather than keeping it in the outdoor drinking space, making relaxed conversation a bit harder; but also creating an upbeat, fun atmosphere, which the friendly staff also contribute to. There was a good range of beer, wine and cocktails, but I went with the value option and ordered jugs: the berry gin and the Classic Pimms were nice and refreshing, but the Ruby Woo Woo crossed the line in sweetness with its strong raspberry cordial flavour. Along with the place just up the road, this tops the list of most fun and convivial venues in Melbourne.
