Favorite spot

I’m vegan and Twisted Tree is great for me. It offers many delicious, healthful vegan and gf dishes and desserts in a charming space on a lovely street. They even made custom cakes for us, mindful of special dietary restrictions (beyond vegan and gf). Lovely people, too! Wish they were open for dinner! 😃

Best breakfast wraps by far

I will never not love this place. Their tofu scramble in any of the wraps absolutely SLAPS! My mouth just waters thinking about it. Everything on the menu is truly vegan, the alternative is the regular egg, probably just to appease people.

Pros: Tons of vegan options , Adorable cafe, Gluten free wraps, rolls, and bread!

Cons: Has VERY limited hours and days open

Decent Healthy Food

Stopped here for lunch while on road trip. Really nice people, great service. Reminded me of old veggie restaurants - healthy, tasty and unpretentious.

Slammin’ avo toast

Nothing to complain about here. All vegetarian with lots of vegan options. I usually get an avocado toast on their homemade oat bread with coconut bacon and almond ricotta. To die for!

Pros: Lots of options, Bomb avocado toast, Homemade bread

Cons: Limited dining, Awkward hours

Veg cafe with huge menu

Friendly counter service & cozy, clean tables. They have a *huge* menu. Well over half their menu is vegan. Just a smattering of options with fish.

I had the nachos with tofu scramble. Tasty and filling. Could have used some pico and vegan sour cream drizzle. But it did the job.

Pros: Lots of vegan options.

Cute vegetarian spot on Cookman

This place actually is a vegetarian restaurant so I don’t know why it won’t let me give them 5 stars. Not everything is vegan though. This is my favorite spot to get lunch in Asbury. Especially after a workout.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Amazing food + to-go muffins are vegan and bomb!, Nice natural light

Cons: Not everything vegan

breakfast alert: do not get tofu scramble

We found this place on happy cow and were excited to try it for Saturday brunch. We both ordered the tofu scramble plate (which we didn’t realize didn’t come with bread) - it came with fruit (but some of the grapes were badly bruised and looked rotten so didn’t even eat them). It cost $9.50 and was disgusting. They used silken tofu so it was very wet, slimy and very lacking in flavor. Luckily i ordered a side of the bread and avocado - the bread was amazingly delicious and the avocado was the only thing that made the tofu somewhat edible. We also ordered the mango juice which was good and 2 americanos with soy milk and the coffees were barely warm.
We asked for a box to go and went somewhere else to eat. Very disappointed in the tofu scramble. I would recommend the bread and perhaps a smoothie for breakfast.

Cozy, friendly, with great vegan options

Wonderful vegan soup and sandwich options, including vegan meatball, lentil burger, and black bean burger. The new owners have added Saturday and Sunday brunch options, such as a delicious tofu scramble with vegan cheese. The homemade oat bread is awesome. Twisted Tree fits right in with fabulous Asbury Park.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Loving neighborhood cafe

While Twisted Tree doesn't have a huge huge menu and is not 100% vegan, they are 100% a neighborhood cafe run by two loving, kind people.

Every time I come in the owners greet me by name and ask how I'm doing. They're laid back, casual and they care a lot about the community and their customers. To me this makes them 5 stars.

They have delicious wraps, sandwiches, soups, juices and specialty coffees. They also have baked goods like vegan muffins and carrot cakes and my favorite, vegan ginger cookie.

Give this place a try! :)

Pros: Wonderful owners, Mostly vegan options, Delicious specialty coffee

Cons: Serves fish products

Nice Find

Was visiting Asbury Pk., NJ and I wanted to find a vegan friendly restaurant. I found this restaurant and was very pleased with the menu selection. Not a big one but still good. I had a green salad with vegan chicken salad for lunch. The portion was fine, good taste, and my non veggie friend liked the food. The atmosphere simple and friendly. Its's nice to find a restaurant like this as there are so few that really offer selections for vegans, even those that say they do. The staff was friendly. It was good to see them busy. My suggestion for the vegan desserts would be to make them truly vegan by not using sugar, maybe using agave, brown rice syrup, etc. Not big on desserts but would have bought something.

Amazing.

This place is great. They have amazing food. I love the focaccia melt. The salad, chili, health bars, muffins, granola, soups, and smoothies are great! The food is always fresh. It is very cute an cozy inside. I like how they sell some items at local health food stores. The people are very nice. They also have live music a lot. I wish I could rate this a 5 but it's not totally veg and it's not aloud :(

Pros: excellent food, friendly staff, great atmosphere

quality vegan food

I had lunch here a couple of months ago and enjoyed the fresh, creative quality vegan food. I also spoke with the new owner a bit and he seemed genuine about the quality of food he prepared. I will definitely go back when I'm visiting that part of New Jersey again. I tried a few items, but really liked the baked tofu sandwich.

Pros: healthy

Twisted Tree is just great

I've eaten at the Twisted Tree and gotten tea there on numerous occasions with friends from school. Every time I have had a solid experience, and really enjoy their Chickenless Salad sandwich (on top of other things). The vibe is great, and I love the eclectic mix of people you will find there. I once sat there for 2 hours after eating playing scrabble. It's homey.

Pros: Great atmosphere, Friendly, Amazing drinks

I love the Twisted Tree Cafe! The homemade vegan muffins are perfect with a soy chai or soy latte. They also have a huge garden salad that you can get with hummus or soy chicken. It's so filling and delicious. I especially love their homemade miso ginger dressing.

Pros: Excellent Food, Friendly Staff, Laid Back Atmosphere

Wonderful Atmosphere and Great Food!

The Twisted Tree has a wonderfully unique atmosphere in addition to having great food. It it earthy and homely... Mostly wooden n appearance like it's name, but also comfortable with cushy couches.

The smoothies are great and they have a nice menu selection.
