Vegan hibachi cooked in butter with egg - Edit
Highly disappointing first and last visit here. I found them on Happy Cow as they are support have Vegan options. Well, on their main menu they have a whole page Vegan menu. I was really excited. When I ordered I told the waitress Vegan vegetable hibachi- pointed to it and asked if the dressing on the salad was vegan as well. It was very clear that I was Vegan looking to have a vegan dinner. She said she would check and when she came back confirmed it was vegan but not gf(which was fine with me). My meal came out and I was starving so I dug in. That is, until I found a piece of what looked like egg in my vegan fried rice. When the waitress came back I asked her about this and also asked her if there was a chance my food had been cooked in butter. She went to find out and disappeared not to return. What I believe to be a manager finally came after waiting some time and informed me that my vegan meal was in fact cooked in butter. Really irresponsible of them. Now I feel sick.

Pretty sure they had a whole vegan menu. I didn't try the sushi, but the yakisoba noodles were amazing. They give you a ton of food, so don't expect to finish the whole thing.

Tons of vegan sushi rolls! - Edit
There were SO many vegan sushi rolls to try. We got takeout and tried the Buddha, Gypsy, and Gandhi rolls. We also got the vegetable and tofu hibachi meal. Everything was really good, it was just very expensive. Maybe if you went to the restaurant and had that experience it would be north worth the price. I do appreciate all the options they have!

This restaurant has some of the most inventive vegan sushi rolls I’ve seen. They are delicious and it makes such a change from the cucumber and avocado rolls we normally get as vegans!
Read moreUnfortunately the service wasn’t great and they forgot to bring out my husbands soup & salad that went with his vegan yakisoba. They also got our order wrong, which they did fix, but there a bit of a delay and we ended up eating separately. Also the yakisoba was only alright. It was pretty tasty, but not authentic.
I would definitely stick to the rolls if you come here, they are great!

Finally you can order vegan, sushi again with grubhub. The dinner, salads and spring rolls are great, but I come for the spooky and power rolls

I ordered the hibachi with vegetables and tofu. The food definitely wasn’t worth the price. So just be prepared to have over priced food.It was ok at best. We sat outside. Inside of the restaurant looked old Dingy, dirty and very worn and run down. They need a facelift.

So good! Tons of vegan sushi that was clearly labeled on the menu in its own section. It was some of the best vegan sushi I've had and I wish it was close to home! Definitely worth a try for anyone considering :)

Read moreEach item is a bit more expensive than a typical sushi place but it is well worth it. The sushi is more filling and beautiful. I recommend trying the Gandhi roll and the Oasis Roll and the Spooky roll. 2-3 rolls per person should be enough for dinner. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I ordered for take out in walk in restaurant, they have vegan menu and I ordered house salad which is I ate more than couple of times there . Who works at front side he is very rude and argues very bad with costumer . He said we don’t have vegan house salad , I said I ate before and you have on your menu ??? He replied the salad is vegan but dressing is not !!! I said sooo why you guys added on vegan menu page ?? Anyway finally I have my order and when I back home , salad size was almost bird feed portion lol !!!... it’s extremely less than actual portion.. I like to dining there instead of take out order .. However their food is so delicious...

Truly amazing! I had the spring rolls as an appetizer and a vegan sushi roll for dinner. There is a separate menu of vegan rolls which makes it so easy to order! Would love to go back if I'm ever in Sarasota! Highly recommend!

We ordered a variety of Vegan sushi options (there is a spot on the menu just for vegan). They let us do brown rice ($1 extra), and when we asked nothing have oil, they steamed the sweet potatoes instead of frying them. Service was great. We plan to come again!

At Tsunami, you will find very accommodating staff and most evenings the owner is there himself. They have several vegan options (6 different vegan sushi rolls for instance) and are regularly adding more. We come here a couple of times a month
