Amazing ramen & gyoza!! - Edit
We waited a little while as it was busy, but the turnover was quick and the food was worth the wait! The staff were helpful with trying to speak English. We had gyoza, the seasonal pink ramen and the golden Sesame ramen. Everything was delicious and good portions!

Casual, super tasty ramen - Edit
Whether you get something light like the yuzu or richer like sesame you can’t go wrong. It’s fully vegan so no option to add that egg for those who partake. They even have a really useful chart for allergies/ menu items.

A bit plain and too spicy - Edit
Except the spiciness ( of the ramen ) it was not a memorable experience.

Delicious Seasonal Dish - Edit
I had the seasonal menu and it was delicious (gyozas, ramen with roots and rice w/ yoghurt).

Since you need to go into the JR area I am wondering if you can avoid the fee associated with it (paid 150 yen going in/out the same station).

Fantastic as always - Edit
Directions: it’s in the Ecute building, which is within the JR ticketed area. If you get to the station by the Ginza line you’ll need to leave the station and go up the escalators/stairs

What can I say, this place had awesome ramen. Don’t let the spicy word on the menu throw you off, nothing is too spicy here. Very affordable, excellent service, and definitely worth the stop if you’re in the station

Great food - Edit
Delicious food. I had the rice bowl with vegetable gyozas, soy meat, vegan cheese, and a small salad. They also have vegan ice cream on the menu.

You need to enter the station with a ticket or IC card to reach the restaurant (even if you're not boarding a train) but tickets are inexpensive.
Enter Ueno station through Park Gate (from Ueno Park), walk straight ahead and you'll soon see platform 8 to your right. The restaurant is next to it.

Best ramen I tried in Tokyo - Edit
Finding this spot was a bit of an adventure, but absolutely worth it. I’d recommend asking locals for directions. There was a long line, and I waited about 15-20 minutes to get seated, but once I ordered, the service was quick. The ramen was incredibly rich—a true flavor bomb—and the gyozas were just as amazing. Food was a 10/10! I’d definitely come back or try their other locations.

Good vegan food quaranteed - Edit
After having visited the other branch at Tokyo Station, I prefer it to Ueno, but the food was the same. (Tokyo Station felt like it had a bigger menu, but perhaps that is the illusion of a tablet vs. confusingly laid out printed menu.
Read moreHard to find if you enter the Ueno station in the "wrong" place, but worth the search and wait at the door if it's busy.
(It says "Ecute Ueno", which the information boards at the station show - but not How To Get There For Dummies; look to enter through "Park Gate", that is your best bet to not get lost in the maze since I could see it from the restaurant.)
Pros: Food tasted amazing
Cons: Cluttered menu

I dream of this rice bowl when I am home in the USA. The vibe is cozy. The gyoza is tasty. I would wear a T’s Tantan tshirt.

Nice - Edit
I think this was nice, but honestly not anything special.
Read moreGetting the golden sesame with the added peanut butter is what saved the broth. I tried it prior it mixing and found it lacklustre.
The noodles were also pretty mushy.
Does not contain a protein which really disappointed me from a vegan restaurant!
Better spots in Tokyo (few I’ve reviewed on here) for a rich tantanmen style or a cleaner, clear broth ramen.
The gyoza was good though! Very flavourful.
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Average tasting broth , Mushy noodles , No protein

worth the hassle - Edit
i got the white sesame ramen and it was really good! i thought the price was great, too. it can be tricky to find depending on where you are in ueno station. i recommend using the ueno park entrance because it’s a straight shot - just between platforms 8 and 9. i’d go again!

Tastiest ramen in Tokyo - Edit
We came here for lunch today. Note, you need to enter the JR train station. We waited outside as they organised a table for us. I loved it when they asked if I had any allergies, they yelled out the order. I ordered the golden sesame ramen with 3 gyoza. The gyoza was nicely cooked and I enjoyed the filling. But the ramen was on another level of delicious. The sesame gave it that extra bit of flavour adding to the already delicious broth. Good serving size, great price. My partner enjoyed the massaman curry.
