Fantastic and fresh! - Edit
I had the miso bbq mushroom burrito. It was the perfect combination of flavorful, saucy and fresh. I love that they serve items on whole grain breads and wraps by default. Very fairly priced too. If I lived nearby I’d eat here every day.

Amazing lunch and a show - Edit
Trumpet Blossom is my favorite restaurant in Iowa City. It is the place I come for Birthdays and Anniversaries, it’s solid and you can never go wrong with the Reuben.
Read moreWe came to see boot camp perform at a Mission creek show at the restaurant during the festival .
I order 2 orders of the seitan wings(an order for each of the sauce choice) as an appetizer. I got the veggieburger, others at my table got the Reuben and the seitan gyro. I also got the Turmeric latte, definitely try the drinks here they are amazing and that menu is well established and I have too many favorites on it. The special was a tofu peanut wrap but we didn’t order it.
The fries and the sauces are good best in Iowa city with Oasis as a close second.
Some say this place is expensive, but it’s not that expensive., $10 for a homemade veggieburger is cheap. Also they make almost everything thing from scratch including the seitan. In a world where so many places serve processed stuff from Sysco, and charge $17 for an impossible burger TB is a stand out.
The staff is the best and friendly as hell.
Pros: Made from scratch ingredients, Solid menu and amazing daily specials , Great venue for both local and touring bands.

House-made everything! Rotating menu. Won’t break the bank, unless you order more and more, which is a risk.

Every single time I drive through this state I go out of my way to stop here and order enough food for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the road ! Iowa is not known for being vegan friendly, so imagine my surprise to find some bomb @$$ vegan chefs on my way up north. I’ve had everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Tip the staff good bc they work hard!

When we showed up today to get takeout the bartender said the kitchen wasn’t open for another 15 minutes. I mentioned that we were trying to get back to the hospital asap she made an exception and got the order in right away.

Great - fully vegan!!!! - Edit
After spending three weeks in the states and my only vegetable intake being the odd slice of tomato on a veggieburger, I was super super happy to find this fully vegan restaurant. I tried the Seitan wings which were delicious. I then had a BLT with salad, absolutely fantastic! …..Followed by a crumble. I was already full, but decided to have it anyway, because it looked so great and it tasted wonderful. Lovely lovely place, will return next year.

Super charming - Edit
I had the miso mushroom burrito and washed it down with the peanut butter, banana smoothie with a little bit of powder cacao added to it. The burrito is a fantastic combination of textures and flavors in a very neat package. Nice touches are the classic drinking glasses that are ball jars as well as the mismatched linens instead of paper napkins. I haven’t spent much time in the Midwest, but a little place like this seems to be an oasis for people like us who are vegan. Highly recommended!

Great vegan restaurant / bar - Edit
What a nice spot! We were able to sit out on the patio (though our dogs had to wait in the car since the only access is through the restaurant) and have a nice meal overlooking the creek. The wings, crabcakes, and fries (including aiolis) were great. The bar had a good selection including some local beers and favorites from outside of Iowa. Too stuffed to try the desserts even though they sounded delicious!

Can’t get enough of this place! - Edit
I visited this wonderful restaurant three times in as many days (and I’m already looking forward to my next trip to Iowa City, haha). Have tried the Reuben, tofu-egg salad wrap, and the soup of the day with corn cakes, all of which were excellent. Yummy turmeric latte and kombucha on tap too. I also love the warm cozy atmosphere—the aesthetic here is 💯🥰

My wife and I recently relocated (back) to Iowa City and are so thankful for this place. The wings (with the habanero mango sauce) are SO. GOOD. I loved them with the vegan sauces. The special milkshake the had was a Strawberry Rhubarb that I wish I could eat/drink daily.
Read moreI also love the ambiance of the place. There is stage that I'm guessing accommodates some live music or open mics, and I can envision a pleasant time sitting at the dimly lit bar, sipping a cherry old fashioned and taking in all the positive vibes.

Fantastic and Eco Friendly - Edit
Everything was absolutely wonderful, and the presentation was amazing. Little touches like mason jars and cloth napkins make the difference. I appreciate the eco touches like the metal straw and drink stirrer. The seasonal produce added a freshness and color that elevated this meal. Everything tasted fresh and had great great texture. Our server was also wonderful, and the atmosphere was fun.

Ambiance and taste - Edit
Sassy restaurant style and deceptively complex taste profiles for each food item we ordered. Items that would seem simple by just reading the ingredients list were layered and very tasty! Same goes for their bar drinks. We ordered dinner and also lunch to go for the next day road trip.

First time at a vegan restaurant. - Edit
Had the Reuben, first one since having the "real" ones more than five years ago. It was just as good as I remember and even slightly better (since no one had to die for it). Very comfortable atmosphere and clean. I brought some non vegan family members there and they enjoyed it as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone. I didn't partake but the full bar looked very inviting as well.

Wish I ordered something else - Edit
We ordered off the lunch menu. I got the miso burrito and it was okay. My friend ordered the gyro and we were surprised that the seitan was crunchy. I would order something else besides these two items in the future. Their coffee and smoothie were good though. I want to come back and try something else on the dinner menu.
