Quite a few options but a bit disappointing

I was impressed by the number of vegan options on their menu, but ultimately a bit disappointed by what I got. $29 for vegan rancheros that were luke warm and quite basic and bland. But filling at least!
My friend got the vegan wrap which seemed like the better bet.
Other reviewers mention vegan waffles but that didn't seem to be on the menu anymore.

Terrible, don't bother at all.

Came here for a brunch, ordered the vegetable toasted sandwich which was supposed to come with vegan cheeze. They told us that it would have to be without butter as they didn't have vegan spreads.

When it came, it was a pathetic looking example of a sandwich with raw mushrooms which was a surprised in a toasted sandwich. Massively overpriced for what it was.

There was clearly egg mayonnaise in it, mixed with a few shreds of (maybe?) vegan cheeze. We asked if the mayo was vegan and the chef told us it was. We had a closer look, then went back in and asked again only to be told that yes, the chef had put egg mayo in it.

Needless to say we got a full refund and left.

Terrible experience.

Pros: None based on our experience.

Cons: Overpriced, Don't seem to know what vegan even means, Lied to us. What if we'd had dangerous allergies?!

Terrible Food & Experience

We ordered a vegan rancheros and heuvos rancheros. The vegan rancheros came out with two eggs on it. We pointed that out, and they took the plate out the back and seemingly just removed the eggs off it. I could still taste/smell on some parts on the plate.

The food was not seasoned, really bland. Looked and tasted like Woolies four bean mix straight out of a can, mixed with some corn and barely cooked mushrooms.

The coffee was also very bitter.

Cons: Food, Coffee

Undercooked and cold

Taters and beans were cold and the potatoes were hard. Not too bad if nothing else open. Wouldnt return for food but the coffee and tea was good.

Pros: Nice staff and great tea selection

Cons: Expensive for size and quality of food

Go vegan in the Blue Mountains

Cozy little spot in the heart of Katoomba surrounded by the Blue Mountains. Enough tables and chairs inside, but also outside seating. Well decorated place with lots of art. We ordered the Vegan Rancheros (big!!) which tasted great. The vegan waffle was a bit hard, but the mango smoothies were excellent!

Missed out

Sadly not a single vegan option available when I went. Everything was apparently “sold out”. Coffee was quite good though!

Great Katoomba Cafe

All vegetarian & vegan.options are clearly marked.
The vegan waffles are fantastic! As are the vegan brownies & the banana bread. Plenty of options ... soups, salad, potatoes with various toppings, including vegan cheese.
Reasonably priced, friendly & obliging staff & great coffee.

Pros: substantial amount of options , well- priced, will go 'off menu' if asked

Cons: small venue so can get crowded quickly
