Staff and kitchen is very accommodating - Edit
We went with some friends and the waiter and kitchen were very flexible in customising dishes where possible. They have a few vegan dishes like pizza, burger or Asia noodle bowl on the menu. Very well labelled and the staff was very knowledgeable.

Good food - Edit
Shared the guacamole w/chips and hummus w/pita, they both were good. The hummus was a little sour but still tasty. I like that they add edamame to their guacamole, makes it a little different from the classic. Friendly staff.

Always a solid choice with good vegan options - Edit
Love how True Food always has great vegan options despite the fact that the menu changes seasonally. There seems to always be a vegan pizza option and their house made ricotta style cheese is very good. They also always have a burger with vegan cheese. The food is on the healthier side and always leaves me full without feeling gross and tired after eating. This one is located in the mall, great option to have after shopping #Veganuary

Prepared Fresh Daily! - Edit
Happy we discovered this delicious restaurant. All the food is prepped fresh daily, and lots of vegan options. Had the mushroom pizza, which had a great crispy and light crust, and a very well executed almond ricotta. Spouse had the burger with vegan patty, which was delicious! The patty was made out of a beet centre and a quinoa/walnut type of crust, very tasty. Overall the atmosphere was great, servers friendly and helpful, and we would definitely return.

Perfect for groups - Edit
I would give a 4 star if it was all vegan. There’s a few choices easy to identify as vegan, and most of their dish are seasonal which I loved. I had the pizza, and the crust was a-ma-zing, but the vegan ricotta lacked taste. The day I went they were extremely busy, but the staff was still as friendly as they could while running around.

Restaurant with many vegan options - Edit
It was a great place to go with my boyfriend who eats meat. We had a vegan starter and then later we shared the teryaki quinoa bowl but I asked for side of tofu and him for steak. Both of us happy!

Good for Vegans and Veggie Lovers - Edit
True Food Kitchen is a great spot to eat for both vegan and non-vegan patrons. I loved the food here, but I would not recommend it for very picky eaters. I had two people with me who didn't know what half of the menu was and one of them refused to touch a vegetable. If the word "kale" gives you anything other than a good feeling then this restaurant is not suitable for you. I had the Ancient Grains Bowl with Tofu and I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it was. My family members eventually found items on the menu they enjoyed after making some minor adjustments to fit their preferences.

That Veggie Burger - Edit
Feels like a much healthier option to the impossible burger- amazing veggie burger with a nice, garlicky kale side. The edamame guacamole with the beautiful homemade flat chips is so good. Love the seasonal vegetables and the butternut squash soup. Honestly, their vegan options are very, very good.

Worth Five Stars - Edit
Everything from the food to the ambiance was perfect here. I’m not sure why reviews aren’t even higher because we adored this place and are so glad we chose it. The food was very high quality, and we even ordered dessert and coffee after. I highly recommend it when in Santa Monica.

Satisfying Bowl! - Edit
Sat outside on a clear blue sky day and got their Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl and the Sparkling Yerba Mate Tea. Both were fantastic!
Read moreThe bowl had some great flavors and textures going on. It wasn't over sauced or oiled either. Left True Food feeling primed for the afternoon!

Five stars! - Edit
I would definitely give a 5 star if it was allowed. The T.L.T was so delicious I am considering going back tomorrow for it. The tempeh in it was the best tempeh I've ever had. It came with 3 options as a side and I chose the kale salad (ask for this to be vegan) which was again so tasty. The place has a great atmosphere too and really great service. Would absolutely recommend!

5 star food and service - Edit
Let me start by saying I find it somewhat unfair you can’t give a place 5 stars if it isn’t fully vegan/vegetarian. There are a lot of fully vegan places that rely heavily on pretend meat and where it is actually difficult to find fresh vegetables and delicious plant based food. Also being part of a family where I am the only vegan having places where everyone can find something they like is a gift indeed. For this reason I love True Food kitchen! I can go with a group of people and everyone is happy. There are many vegan options including gluten free pizza vegan and the kale salad (modified to be vegan from original) is fantastic. I highly recommend it.

I loved this place when I first went, but am now feeling a bit more “meh” about it. I enjoy the food while I’m eating there, but found my stomach got a bit upset the last couple of times I went there.

PIZZA - Edit
I’ve been to both locations and the service has always been great, but the real reason I always come here is for the pizza. They don’t have many vegan options, maybe about 5 for the whole menu, but from what I’ve tried, the pizza and veggie bowl never disappoint. I feel bad for saying this, but some of my favorite vegan pizza is here, and I’ve been to most vegan places in la. The cashew cheese they use on the pizza is truly unrivaled and is really what makes it special. (More of an artisan-style personal pizza)
