Good, quick lunch

We stopped in today for two veggie dogs each - Chicago style. Quick, yummy lunch. Veggie dogs are vegan. They have vegan cheese and Mayo for their impossible burgers, and a separate grill. Jeff was SUPER nice!!

Surprising Options

We were surprised to find this option.

Ordering was simple, staff really seemed to understand vegan. The receipt even read 'vegan'.

We ordered a single burger and a double burger. We added vegan cheese and vegan mayo to each which came with an up charge. They made sure to also confirm a vegan bun.

The burgers were really delicious and not that much more expensive than burger king.

We found the staff to be knowledgeable and friendly. We'd be happy to go back and try the vegan dogs.

Parking: Parking wasn't easy. The road is under construction and at the time there were cars parked in front of the building. We parked in a nearby bank parking lot. We took the last space. It was a Saturday.

COVID-19: The staff were wearing masks and we didn't see anyone eating in.

Pros: Fast and convenient

Cons: Up charge for vegan cheese and vegan mayo

Nice!

Hello, and yes this place is a go to must. I just moved to chapel hill so i haven't had much time to explore. I only ate the hot dogs and they were good, get 10 for $6.50 or so. Bar in back atmosphere is laid back also. Only drawback is I wish the dogs were firmer , but great texture. Makes the dogs in no less than 10 different ways. Big screens in back.

Pros: Quick bite and catch a buzz, Laid back, Many basic options

Cons: Specify if you want hot dogs firmer, Hole in the wall joint, Not enough people know about this place

Great For A Quick Bite

Local franchise from the NC coast.
Recently updated the name to "The Beach on Franklin". They've also fully embraced the Impossible Burger. Still serving vegan hot dogs (LightLife I've been told). You can customize your dog, or choose from a variety of listed styles. Most contain chili, and I haven't confirmed it's vegan yet. Chicago style doesn't and is somewhat authentic.

Incredibly inexpensive, and offers lunch specials. Even the Impossible Burger is priced appropriately ($6.50 for one patty | $8.50 for two plus $1.50 vegan bun). Also has vegan mayo ($0.25) and vegan Chao cheese ($1.00) topping options not listed on the menu. Perfect for lunch or a late night bite.

Pros: Fast, Cheap, Some Vegan Items Listed On Menu

Cons: Cross Contamination Possible
