Great vegan breakfast - Edit
An absolute must to try the vegan English breakfast here, according to my friend in Manchester. And there was no lie about that. What a delicious breakfast, one that I often think about. Looking forward to eating here again!

Cute place with a handful of vegan options - Edit
Pub/eatery with a handful of vegan options including brunch. I had the vegan breakfast which was nice enough and a decent size for a breakfast. Contained all the usual suspects including scrambled tofu 👍🏻
Read morePros: Scrambled tofu in the breakfast , Cute place, Tasty food
Cons: Suggest you book especially on the weekend., 2-3 vegan options rather than loads of choice

Great vegan English breakfast - Edit
Have been here twice now and just love their vegan English breakfast. The “sausage” is a little salty to my liking, but that does not change the overall experience. Traditional meal in a “modern” way (also with the avocado) and good portion size.
Read moreJust a little tip from experience: if you order (green) tea and prefer it not too strong, make sure to pour it immediately upon receiving it. They use many tea leaves, which makes it taste bitter quickly (at least for my Dutch standards).
Would recommend to go here for a vegan English breakfast! #Veganuary
Pros: Got breakfast for half price in January!, Friendly staff , Good portion size

GCNQ - Edit
A seriously great bar in the best part of town. Always find ourselves drawn to Trof whenever in Manchester. Post cricket we popped in for a Paulaner before heading to Victoria for the train. Can’t comment on food but the beer is always good

Vegan English breakfast - Edit
We went to try their vegan full english breakfast. Most was good, especially the vegan black pudding which tasted great, but we didn’t like the tempe egg. It had a very strong bitter taste.

Pre gig dinner - Edit
Ate here before going to a gig. The venue is small and quirky, set over a number of floors. The vegetarian choices were decent. I had a tofu katsu curry which came with loads of rice, and my husband had the mushroom and halloumi burger which he enjoyed greatly. Nice choice of beers at the bar. Would eat here again.

Expensive! - Edit
Went for a vegan roast which was alright but massively overpriced. £13.50 for a rather small plate - same price as the veggie roast which comes with extras (Yorkshire pudding and root mash). Far from the self-proclaimed “best Sunday dinner in the world, ever” I’m afraid. Service was very friendly but a bit slow. All in all a disappointing experience.

Cons: Expensive, small portions, Not the quickest service, Hardly any vegan options

Great vegan breakfast! - Edit
Vegan options are very limited. Veggie options are more numerous. I’ve had their vegan breakfast a few times, it’s great! And their vegan black pudding (although an odd concept to me as I’ve never had the normal black pudding!) is actually quite tasty

Needs improvement - Edit
Really nice to see a vegan option, came out a little cold, 6 of us ate and there was a £7 service charge added.

Great beef and pumpkin wellington - Edit
I came for dinner on a Thursday night with my mum. Although there were only a few fully vegan options to choose from, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my meal. It was absolutely delicious and I felt that it looked as good (if not better!) as any of the other mains on the menu.

Great food and atmosphere! - Edit
Went twice for breakfast, had the vegan full English both times. Really loved the baked sweet potatoes, despite usually not being a fan of those, they used some very nice seasoning! Also appreciated the vegan black pudding and the apparently handmade hashbrown.
Read moreThey have loose leaf tea, which is nice, but sadly they brew them in pots without an option to strain after it's done, leading to the last cup being rather oversteeped.
Their soy cappuccino was good though.
The design, music and atmosphere is somewhere between a classy bar, cosy old fashioned pub and hipster cafe. Also has sockets at most seats (at least downstairs) and good wifi.

Great vegan brunch! - Edit
There are three vegan brunch options available here, all served till 4pm. The full vegan breakfast was really good (except for a cold tomato, which was a poor addition!) and very filling, despite the lack of sausages or meat substitutes. The breaded avocado was the real highlight! The sweet potato and mushroom hash was also really good, and packed with flavour and seasoning. It's a nice, friendly little place and we really enjoyed our visit. There are vegan options for main meals as well, but no desserts yet.

Fabulous Vegan Options - Edit
Trof NQ is in the busy Northern Quarter, one of my favouite areas of Manchester and although I have walked past so many times, this was my first visit, as previously I had never seen any vegan options.
Read moreThe menu now includes delicious sounding vegan dishes, so I decided to have the all day vegan brunch of sweet potato, mushroom and spinach hash, with some vegan black pudding, which I ordered with some trepidation.
The hash was fantastic, packed with flavour, great textures and served with some gorgeous sourdough bread, perfect for mopping up the juices on the plate. I was so surprised that I enjoyed the black pudding, it was a little like falafel. The dish was so good, I demolished the lot and will try and replicate the dish at home, it was spot on.
I will definitely revisit Trof NQ, its my kind of place, relaxed and chilled and of course, I have got to try those other dishes.
Pros: Vegan options, Clear vegan labelling
