Sagatuck Sidetrip - Edit
We hopped of the highway to stop by Tree Of Life to get a quick vegan lunch. The smoothie was tasty, the toast was small but surprisingly tasty, and the açaí bowl was pretty but bland. Add a sweeter topping if you decide to get it! Overall it was handy, healthy, and gave us a chance to see how cute Sagatuck is.

Best Smoothie in Saugatuk - Edit
I am always going to support a plant-based restaurant, and by golly, I am going to again here. Tree of Life Juice is a vegan smoothie bar in downtown Saugatuk. It is right next to New Holland's Saugatuk drinking room, so you can order a healthy smoothie at Tree of Life and get a different type of drink right next door.
Read moreTree of Life has a cute and colorful interior with artistic paintings of plants throughout. As a side benefit, they have a good amount of plant-based merchandise at the front of the restaurant, so if you want any quirky or witty vegan t-shirts, this is a solid location to find it. Unfortunately, most of the merchandise I saw did not have options for men. I am not against wearing clothing traditionally for women, I just find the cut does not suit my body well.
Now, the main attraction is Tree of Life's food. The smoothie was a fruity, sippable, healthy sugar boast as I strolled downtown Saugatuk and explored the many boutiques. I did not try any of the other food choices. The smoothies are definitely the focus of the menu.

This was the only other place in town with some vegan breakfast options. They serve smoothies, açaí bowls, oatmeal, and avocado toast that can all be vegan.
Read moreAçaí bowls were fine, not the best I’ve had but decent size and toppings. The oatmeal was small and boring. The avocado toast was very sad, don’t recommend that.
Staff was nice and the spot is super cute. They also have coffee and little energy bites that were vegan.

Wonderful healthy vegan food - Edit
I was so happy to see a vegan place when visiting. I needed something to eat but didn't want to eat big or unhealthy before dinner. The oatmeal was perfect with fresh fruits. Then a coffee with oat milk, just made it the perfect snack.
