tAco

Jackfruit tacos are good, not too expensive. I’d go again if I was back in the area.

Not good

When they do have their vegan items in stock, they are completely bland and unimpressive. I am desperate for vegan options in this area, but not desperate enough to eat here again.

Use caution

An upset former employee of this establishment posted on Facebook that chef feeds vegans bacon (secretly) in their food for fun.

It's a gimmick--and not a good one

Wacky comfort food spot in downtown White River Junction. Very fun colorful decor and interesting food options, however, like most things about this place, their "vegan friendliness" is a gimmick.
Menu options are clearly labeled as gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, etc. However, no dish is purely vegan--all the vegan labeled dishes have to be modified and not in a satisfactory way in my opinion. For example, they have a taco that is "vegan" but has cheese and if you take out the cheese it's just a bland tortilla with some greens--not much of a taco in my opinion. Or the fried plantain starter is labeled vegan, yet comes with a chocolate dipping sauce that is not vegan (thankfully I double checked with the staff before eating it!). The staff also has little to no knowledge of what vegans can/can't eat, so ordering was a very frustrating experience.
I ended up trying one of their burritos with their chickpea sweet potato mash and black beans and it was truly just that. No greens or anything fresh inside that tortilla--just fried potato, beans, and some disgustingly sweet sauce that tasted like the cheap corn-syrup sweet and sour sauce you get with Chinese take out. Everything was too greasy, too fatty, and lacking freshness and real flavor. After hearing so much hype around this place I was thoroughly disappointed and would not recommend it to any vegans.

Pros: Fun decor

Cons: Bad food, Staff does not know about veganism
