Great Lunch Spot - Edit
We stopped here after leaving La Fortuna. Absolutely stunning views, which would have been worth it even if the food hadn’t been so good. I got the veggie burger, which is no longer the Beyond patty. It was very good and unique, definitely not one I’ve had before. The fries were freshly made potato wedges and perfectly cooked.

The best Beyond Burgers in Costa Rica! - Edit
This restaurant is more than just a place to grab a bite to eat. Not only do they have lovely rooms for overnight stays, but you'll find an incredible gift shop with handcrafted items made in Costa Rica. However, the dedicated vegan menu is what will really convince you to stay for a bite.
Read moreMy husband and I each had the Toucan Vegan Burger which was a Beyond Burger topped with caramelized onions, red onions, tomato, pickle, and fresh lettuce. This was served on an incredible homemade spinach bun which put this meal over the top with deliciousness. It is served with your choice of a small salad or roasted potatoes which were melt-in-your-mouth perfection.
The other vegan menu items include four kinds of pasta and many varieties of pizza complete with vegan cheese. The beer selection is excellent with a wide variety of artisanal beers, and there are cocktail specialties as well.
The view is spectacular and not only will you be able to enjoy the hummingbirds during your meal but you'll be greeted by the owners' three friendly and adorable dogs. The service is prompt and the servers are welcoming and helpful.
Make sure you say hello to the owners Joanne and Simon and stop by the kitchen to meet Ronald, their talented chef. Toucan Lane is one stop you won't want to miss on your visit to or through Lake Arenal.
