Ton Ma Yom - Edit
Forgot to say no mushrooms when ordering my penang curry (doesn't usually come with) when it arrived with mushroom she was a bit pouty about it.
Read moreShe suggested ordering something different, not sure why cannot just not add when cooking?
Ordered green and it wasn't that tasty for me.
I wanted my tofu crispy. She said it wouldn't be good. I ended up leaving all the tofu. It tasted like milk or cheese or something and soft, how I don't like it. They do fresh coconuts 👍
My husband loved his. The table next to us (meat eaters) spent ages writing down recipes with advise from the waitress. So mustve loved theirs.
I just ordered wrong, I think. After a long day of travelling from Singapore and 7hr stop over in KL enroute here. Arriving 30m before dinner.
They have pet cats roaming and some caged birds.

Good food, rude staff - Edit
Can’t fault the food, staff roll their eyes at you when asking to split the bill.

Not really sure about that one - Edit
The food was good but nothing special. But I will not go back because of some reasons. First will be the noise of the thaiboxtraining right next to it. Second I did not like to be looked at the whole time from the staff, that was a little uncomfortable after a while. And third I asked if rice would come with my dish without ordering in extra and she said yes, but on the bill was rice listed as an extra I had to pay for.

Worth the drive from our hotel - Edit
While the taste of the food ultimately matters most, I can't forget some of the other reasons I'll remember this one. Sitting street side in a downpour, with the sounds of Muay Thai training across the street and the smell of the rain made me decide not to rush. And I'm glad we slowed down.
Read moreThe food, while I wasn't quite sure how "vegan" my plate was, was so good and comforting. And since my stomach didn't object I'm guessing it was actually as safe as mentioned here. I will be trying to replicate the soup in the near future. Definitely recommend this hole-in-the-wall gem.

Amazing place - Edit
I wish this place was veggie/vegan so that I could give it 5 stars! Absolutely amazing food. Clearly know what no egg/fish sauce/oyster sauce means, and vegetarian section on the menu that can be made vegan. Run by a lovely family who are kind and genuine. Green curry was the best I’ve ever had. Pad Thai was also amazing. Spring rolls are also brilliant. Very good price for the area as well. Only bad thing to say here is that they serve meat.
Read moreIt can be a little difficult to find, and looks like a bit of a dodgy backroad, but it’s a really nice ambience and atmosphere there, complete with a dog!
Would 100% recommend this over Jungle Kitchen which was where we had our first meal in Ao Nang. Only a 5 minute walk down the road from Jungle Kitchen (and no need to book!)
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Cheap, Amazing food
Cons: Serves meat

Worth going! - Edit
Although it’s not an „insider“ anymore we really enjoyed eating there. After a few minutes waiting time we ordered a coconut soup which was really delicious and a meat based meal for my bf. Really good choice and nice Ambiente for reasonable prices.

good food, good prices - Edit
This place is tucked down a side street. The chef knew exactly what vegan means and and listed off all the things we can’t eat. Some of the best prices I’ve seen in this area. I got a fresh coconut and it was huuuge and perfect in the hot weather. Sweet and sour veg is really good. My partner had the red curry, also delicious but too spicy for me. It’s an open air restaurant so there’s no air con but they have fans and shade so it’s not bad. Flies all around though, but most places here are like this. They weren’t busy at all when we were here around 11:30am. Only one other table out of 13 was taken.

Excellent food - Edit
Lovely little restaurant off the main street with authentic Thai food. The restaurant doesn’t seat many, so either make a reservation or be prepared to wait 20-30 minutes. There’s a vegetarian section of the menu, which they can adapt to be vegan.
