Vegan chinese - Edit
We had most of the menu which was all really tasty. We really liked this chicken in batter starter that came with a sweet chill sauce. The fried rice and singapore noodles were really good too. Spring rolls were crunchy and tasty. I couldn’t move having ate too much! Will definitely be returning soon.

Very good dim sum and mock meats proper Chinese - Edit
Good quality dim sum and Chinese mock meats.
Read moreWhen we arrived it was fully booked so we had to wait for an hour to get a table so be sure to book ahead.
We had the spring rolls which were nice and crispy. Highlights were the smacked cucumber starter which was juicy and refreshing and the chilli wantons in a lovely sauce.
Also we had a selection of dim sum platter and a tofu and mushroom dim sum which was very good. Frequently we'd go to dim sum places in London and be disappointed but not this time. Finally the last dish was the chilli chicken, which was a bit dry but had plenty of chillis.
All this was pricey about £67 for food and a pot of tea, but it was good quality and great flavours.

Proper Chinese food! - Edit
Excellent place, short walk from Angel tube station. Nice atmosphere of an authentic Chinese restaurant. Food is delicious. Not cheap though, but we’ll worth the money in my opinion. Hope they open another restaurant south of the river!

Good food in a welcoming restaurant - Edit
It's nice to have good, vegan, Chinese food. We started with spring rolls, which were delightfully crunchy. I then had the dim sum selection - three varieties, all flavoursome. A nice atmosphere and helpful staff.

Tofu**ing amazing - Edit
FM enjoyed a takeaway from this place - listed as 'Vegan Dim Sum' on Deliveroo. It was a clear cut above your regular Chinese restaurant.
Read moreThere is a great range of options - and the flavour was fantastic. We loved the green bean, wontons, and tofu/bean dumplings in particular.
A little bit pricey is the only downside.

Just what London needed - Edit
The food was incredible and the dumplings were some of the best I have ever tried. So pleased to have another place like this in London. As others have said, it is a little pricey but worth the price imo.

Delicious but pricier side - Edit
We had lunch here and ordered 2 cold soy milks, Silken Tofu in spicy sauce, Twice cooked fish and 2 servings of rice. We really liked the calming atmosphere, friendly service and unlimited servings of rice (definitely needed as the rice bowls were the size of our palms). The soy milk is unsweetened and has a roasted taste - definitely different from the usual Asian soy milk that we’re used to.
Read moreFlavours are amazing and you won’t be disappointed! The Chinese flavours are spot on and definitely filling a gap in the vegan Chinese cuisine market.
Food is not so spicy even with the chilli signs next to the names. Serving sizes are on the smaller side given the price.
Pros: Rice portions - we had 3 or 4 small bowls each, Get the Twice cooked fish - it was amazing, Lots of dishes to choose from
Cons: Slightly expensive, we paid £37.40 for lunch

Tasty Szechuan vegan food - Edit
I was delighted that a new vegan and dog-friendly restaurant has opened in the area, especially one that diversifies the cuisines we have in the area. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and were able to fit us in without a booking.
Read moreThere are so many options we found ordering a little overwhelming, but once we did, everything was good.
We had the Mapo Tofu and Gong Bao King oyster mushrooms. Both were good, but be wary the Gong Bao (what some might also know as Kung Pao Tofu) was very sweet!
Prices were a little higher than we expected, but very in line with upper street location. They also offer unlimited rice for £2.40 each.
A note to say that the tofu is made on premise, and therefore it’s slightly softer than some of the deep fried types they use in some takeaways. Very tasty, but if you’re used to the smoked stuff, this is a different experience. We didn’t try the wider ‘neaten option, but mock chicken, fish and lamb were also on the menu for those who want to give them a go!

Great food, overpriced. - Edit
Food is great however, the portions are tiny for the price... nothing like in Asia.... make sure to ask for more rice because it’s per-head and it’s unlimited but if you don’t know you don’t know!

Top new vegan restaurant for London - Edit
A fantastic showcase for vegan Chinese food, currently under-represented on the London dining scene. Despite the extensive menu, no two dishes are alike and despite the name, there's plenty to choose from besides tofu. The meat alternatives are highly recommended even to those who aren't usually bothered. Heat levels are marked and even the spiciest options had chilli well integrated rather than being gratuitously hot.
Read moreService is super friendly, attentive and informative. Plates come as large tapas size and we were advised on the quantity to order for a (hungry) party of 4 which turned out to be just the right amount. The server's recommended dishes - confidently offered with a no-charge guarantee if we didn't love them! - were excellent. Dishes arrived quickly but we didn't feel at all rushed at the end of the meal. Non-drinkers choosing tea can look forward to a charming, generously-sized teapot and highly desirable blossom design teacup.
The dining room was fully open at the front to the 'fresh' Upper Street air which was comfortable even on a rainy evening, and tables are well spaced.
It's doubly exciting to be so spoilt for such quality choice as a vegan (like being an omnivore!) and after long, restaurant-free months. One trip won't cut it.

Honestly the best food of my life - Edit
Tried this place out with my partner on a whim for date night after seeing it was new with great reviews, not a word of a lie I think this was the best food I’ve ever had in my entire 22 years of life.
Read moreEvery single layer of flavour and texture for every individual dish was impeccable, presented beautifully, and the server’s recommendations for dish pairings meant the whole meal was full of variety.
Worth 100% of the price for the food alone, but the experience of dining in the restaurant was excellent too, we felt like royalty!
We already plan to return for our anniversary next month, this is a place everyone NEEDS to prioritise dining at!
Pros: Flawless personal service, Unbeatable food

Flawless spot you can bring anyone to - Edit
I've been excited about the opening of Tofu Vegan, which has links to the well established and popular Xi'an Impression, and it did not dissapoint. The menu a hit parade, the presentation is good, and staff are able to make excellent recommendations with confidence. The atmosphere feels grown up and professional. I would be comfortable bringing anyone here. I went on opening night and service was flawless.
