Toad hall review - Edit
I really enjoyed my roasted vegetable salad and my boyfriend liked the vegan burger. I just with there were more add ons such as fried tofu or more options of protein that I could have had with the salad then it would have been 10/10

Delicious meals - Edit
There were three vegan options on the menu. I asked for the nachos to be made vegan they did this for us. I am a local, have always loved it here and enjoyed it just as much this visit. Very large portion sizes. We shared nachos, burger and chips between three. All very full when we left.

Toad - Edit
No toads on the menu but still a great meal after 5 days of tramping. Much better than 2 minute noodles (and I love noodles) (almost as much as I love toads)

Yummmmy food! - Edit
If you are in Motueka, you must go in and have ala card or from their cabinet foods. Have great breakfast menu and smoothies.
Read moreUnique is their vegan charcoal ice cream. My all time favorite is the Thai rice ball with some chickpea salad 🥗 😋. Then you can check out their dessert menu.

Staff aren’t trained to cater vegans - Edit
Toad Hall has gorgeous vegan smoothies and real fruit ice cream.
Read moreHowever, every time me and my partner ask for vegan real fruit ice cream no staff knows how to make it. Which makes it awkward for us and they always have to reach their superior and ask how it’s made.
It makes the whole situation a bit awkward and discriminating. This has happened twice already, and it would be better if the staff were trained to know how to cater all dietary needs.

Excellent vegan food!! - Edit
We had the falafel plates and they were so tasty and made there from scratch. I have had their smoothies and all were yummy, except I did not care for the mint one. Maybe it was an off day for them.

Best vegan real fruit ice cream! :) - Edit
We got there 30 minutes before closing so we didn’t look at the proper menu, but we got vegan yellow curry pies out of the cabinet options and real fruit ice creams. There was a few vegan options in the cabinet food! They have a whole seperate machine for vegan ice creams and they were the best ones we had ever had. Super friendly staff- overall really cool place😄
Read moreEdit - we ended up coming here again the next night for dinner and it was really nice! We got a vegan pizza and polenta fries - both were good. Staff again were very friendly and drink sizes were massive haha!

Vegan fresh fruit ice cream!!! - Edit
Lots of vegan options in the cabinet - quite impressive. Vegan pie, wrap, an array of raw slices, salads, rice cake and more. I didn't look at the menu as only had a real fruit ice cream and it was incredible. Coconut based and it was awesome to see a vegan option! 5 star worthy. Always stop through when going through Motueka now.

Lunch at Toad Hall - Edit
Delicious lunch at Toad Hall. I had the vegan burger in a bowl - option to have in a bun or in a bowl without the bun. Served with the freshest salad, the lettuce tasted like it had just been picked from the garden. Finished with Manuka mint tea and a raw cookies and cream cake. Service ( from Jack 😊) was excellent. All the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend and we will return.

Nice work on those Nachos!.... - Edit
Toad Hall is a popular cafe in Motueka. It's big with plenty of indoor/outdoor seating options, a kids play area & is dog friendly for your furry companion.
Read moreWe hadn't been back here for a few years because there just weren't any vegan options last time we stopped here on our way to Golden Bay but times change & they now have a few good looking menu & cabinet items.
I had the vegan nachos. It was a good portion size and I really enjoyed it. Service was friendly and prices are moderate. We must have heard 4 other orders for this meal just while we were sitting there enjoying the Saturday afternoon sun out on the deck ~ popular choice!
The vegan ice cream cones look good too....I'll try one of those on the way back thru town!

awesome place - Edit
I had the falafel platter, which was very well served with good variety of sauces, greens for the salad. But the best part was the Real Fruit Ice cream, you can make it Vegan with Little Island coconut ice cream base and add berries, mango or banana to it. I had mine in a cone (which is also vegan), and it was amazing and creamy! Def worth it
