Vegan options - Edit
The rice, black beans and refried are all vegan. I called to check and Marcus was very knowledgeable. He said everything can be made vegetarian by replacing the meat with beans. Most things can be made vegan by omitting the cheese and sour cream. I ordered take out food for 5 people and it was under $60. We got a lot of food for that amount.

They can make any of the menu items vegan and have bottomless chips and dip that they even refill so you can take them to go! #Veganuary

Delicious food, great customer service - Edit
Great restaurant location! Some options can be made vegan-friendly. I ordered their veggie burrito (flour tortilla, refried beans, pico de gallo, no sour cream or cheese, and salsa verde on top as the options) with tortilla chips - very delicious! The cashier taking our order was very understanding and accommodating my vegan requests. Compostable brown plates (may need to ask for when ordering for dine-in) and paper cups available, for my zero-waste friends (bring your own fork knife utensils; their drink machines are accessible only by the crew members).

Tex mex - Edit
Be careful ordering here as they easily forget to remove cheese from veg dishes. When it's done correctly the dishes are tasty and really Tex mex tasting. They have tons of hot sauces to choose from and the staff is friendly.

We found this place via Happy Cow and were not disappointed. Love the atmosphere and the food. Lots of options for vegans and outside seating which allows dogs.

We love this place - Edit
After reading reviews we tried this place on our previous trip to the area and were not disappointed. We can't wait for our upcoming trip next week to go back. They were able to make my husband a vegan chimichanga with beans and veggies. I had bean and veggie burritos. All delicious. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and it was very casual, laid back and kid friendly which is a must for us.

not good - Edit
The food is greasy and inconsistent in taste. Guacamole is too salty and the service is little to be desired.

One of my favs - Edit
This place is one of my husband and I's favorite places. When we don't feel like cooking we usually choose to go here. I love the black bean and veggie burritos and I also get tacos with black beans too. There salsa and guacamole are delicious.

Vegan & Family Friendly - Edit
We ended up at Tijuana Flats after the first place we went to didn't have high chairs. So down the road we went and I'm so happy that we did. The staff is polite and vegan-knowledgeable. Most of the items are easily made vegan, even the kids meal.
Read moreWhat we ordered:
Chips and Guacamole
Norritto (burrito bowl) with black beans and refried beans.
Veggie & Bean Burrito (sans cheese)Comes with Chips
Kids meal burrito (refried beans & rice) with apple juice and banana (other option is applesauce.) Comes with chips.
Everything was excellent. Filling and tasty and not a hint of cross-contamination with non-veg items.
The Hot Bar has a lot of great hot sauces. We stuck to the mild ones for the most part. We especially loved the "Slap my @$$ and call me Sally-Sweet" and the "Caribbean Soul Key Lime." Husband tried the Ghost Chile but as we're from New Mexico it wasn't that hot to us.
Also worth a mention, we didn't order them this time, but our server confirmed the banana empanada desert is vegan. Not sure if this includes the caramel sauce or not, but it's nice to know you can finish your meal with something sweet.
The patio is dog friendly (complete with water bowls) and kid friendly (complete with bean bag toss and sidewalk chalk.)
Pros: Vegan friendly staff/ menu, Family Friendly, Dog Friendly (on patio)

Vegetarian Concern - Edit
I loved this place. Once we found meat in an item and they were very apologetic and upset. We stayed away for a long time. Many of our veg friends said give it another try. But found chicken or meat in a bean burrito. You hae to be very careful
