Come for the sandwiches, stay for the donuts

They have one of the best vegan sandwich menus in Toronto. They've really got some unique and almost 100% house made items. The rolls which are obviously made there really take their food to the next level.
The donuts, bagels, cinnamon rolls and pretzels are amazing.
I only wish there was more seating.

Pros: Great, friendly staff, Frozen and pantry items to go, So many desserts

Cons: Little seating

Donuts!

All I got were some donuts, but they were the best donuts I'd eaten since Donut Friend in L.A. Maple pecan and one filled with chocolate cream. Worth the trip for the donuts alone. If you're visiting from the U.S., show up with cash, as they don't accept U.S. debit or credit cards.

Pros: Donuts, Donuts, Donuts

Cons: Would not accept credit or debit card from U.S.

Bakery Heaven

This place has a bakery counter to make you drool. The range for vegan products is crazy. I wanted to try everything.
I can recommend the breakfast burrito, a feast in itself. I ate as many baked goods as I could and all delicious. I only wish we had this quality bakery back in the UK

Pros: Breakfast burrito, Amazing selection

Neighbourhood Jewel.

One of my favourite places. A great source for takeaway and last minute frozen meals to be made at home. Very lucky to live minutes from this place.

Pros: Sandwiches , Baked goods , Frozen meals

Mandatory butter tarts!

If you're visiting Canada you need to try two things at TBC: the butter tart and the Nanaimo bar. Both are classic Canadian desserts that aren't usually vegan. TBC's are delicious.

Great vegan donuts

Everything looked so delicious that it was hard to choose! I went for a donut covered in chocolate and it was really tasty! The dough was super and the chocolate yummi.

HAIL TBC!!

One of my favourite spots in the whole city. Amazing and hearty sandwiches, insane baked goods (hello pizza buns!!!), freezer and fridge full of the best take home meals, sauces, doughs or fillers. The best preserves. Plus the only place in Toronto that carries Ladyship vegan cheese which is arguably the most incredible vegan cheese you'll ever get your hands on. They do holiday pre-orders, too. There is nothing not to love about this place and the folks who make magic there!

Pros: takeout/takeaway, seating area, ladyship cheese

best bakery ever

Seriously, this is the best place to get baked goods, vegan or not. The croissants are amazing! They also have a great selection of frozen meals, pickles, and jams. Their hot sandwiches are also delicious and very filling.

Pros: Variety of baked goods (sweet and savory), Everything is delicious , Friendly staff

Decent food, poorly run establishment

The food here is great. The service is slow, be ready to wait 3 or 4 minutes to receive a display case baked good order. I have been in twice and both times the cashiers made me feel like I was an irritant. The food is decent but not spectacular. Do not order anything that would require you to stay. As well don't count on there being anything gluten free. If they fixed the seating issue and dealt with poor service I would consider going back.

Pros: Good croissants

Cons: poor service, minimal seating

I wasn't sure if they were through, but they were...

The first couple times I went there when they opened I wasn't so hot on the service in terms of attitude. Years later there is nothing to complain about. The regular gal is super sweet and other staff have also been friendly.

You wouldn't know it - but you should go for the sandwiches. They, and the frozen take out food, is even better than the baked goods.

Pros: nice range of stuff, sandwiches are mind blowing, take out stuff like seiten is a real plus

Cons: closed on mondays!

Good junk food and desserts place

Don't go here if you want something healthy. The junk food is delicious though - the hot dog-style things are good but very stodgy. The cakes are great - tried a doughnut fritter thing, a cookie, and a cake and all were great. They have merch too, and the staff are really nice.

Pros: Doughnuts, Cakes, Hotdog bun things

Cons: Location, Price

Best Vegan Sandwiches in Toronto

TBC's known for its [great] baked goods, but they're a hidden gem for their food menu. They've got a few tables that you can dine in, and their sandwiches and wraps are all ridiculously good. There was a point where we were eating there every weekend.

Their Widowmaker is my favorite, with their Crunchwrap being a closer runner up. They're large and filling.

Pros: Great sandwiches, Good frozen goods section, Friendly staff

Cons: Only cash or debit, No A/C

A Cozy Vegan Shop

I finally made it to TBC, and while I wasn't disappointed I wasn't blown away. TBC is a solid addition to the Toronto vegan scene, and it is conveniently located in the west end near several other vegan places. I just found the place to be a little sparse. A few comfy seats/tables could really make the space seem more inviting.

That being said, the baked goods were great and the prices reasonable. Definitely worth checking out.

Pros: Take Home Options, Great baked goods!!

Cons: Limited seating

FANTASTIC Donuts!!! :D

I took a trip to Through Being Cool on a "cheat day" of sorts and picked up a box of half a dozen donuts (naughty me). I should have realized how dense and filling they were! They were so delicious, especially the unique flavours they offer (ex. lime coconut). The only downside is that they don't last too long, and I doubt refrigerating them would preserve their texture. That being said, for the first real donut I've had since going vegan, I'm not disappointed in the least. I also picked up a nice genuine pumpkin spice latte there (made with real pumpkin). Delicioso ^_^

Pros: AMAZING Donuts, Friendly Staff, Plenty of Selection

Cons: So Much Temptation!!!

Fabulous donuts

OK, I know it sucks that the donuts are $3. Better for me, I suppose, because they are delicious. Get them while they are still warm. I had a chocolate glazed donut stuffed with raspberry puree and it was delightful. The perfect amount of sweetness (ie, not very) and it was overflowing onto my hands as I ate it, but I was thrilled. Delicious. They also have tea lattes and a number of prepared entrees to go, too, like macaroni and cheese, veggie pot pie and tempeh cabbage rolls. Assorted jams and mustards, too.

Pros: delicious vegan donuts

Cons: price

tbc vegan bakery

The baked goods are tasty, friendly staff, nice location.... But soooo expensive. I just can't justify 3.50 for a "butter" tart, or 3.00 for a donut! I wanted to bring six butter tarts to a dinner and was nearly $30!!!

Pros: location, staff, tasty treats

Cons: price, no seating
