Overall-Meh. I was impressed with the vegetarian and vegan options. The Quality of the food was above average; however, the value was fairly poor. Entrees ranged from $14-17+ for soggy fries and an OK main dish. Service is about what you'd expect. I don't think I would return again because there are better places for special occasions and cheaper places with good vegan options for regular date nights.

Nice spot - Edit
I have been here a total of 4 times (I think, it may be only 3). Each visit has been enjoyable, although somewhat odd. It seems there is always a hiccup in the service for some reason or another, but the food has always been wonderful.

Always great - Edit
Been going to three carrots for years. Unfortunately they're going out of of business on October 1st. Made one last trip and the southern bowl is as good as ever, will be very sad to see them go. RIP.

Great Food - Edit
I remember when they were located in city market, and I was new to being a vegan. There food was always great. Now with the location there menu has expanded. Always enjoy a meal at this restaurant.

Great seitan dishes! - Edit
Three Carrots has a lot of seitan dishes that are delish. The seitan is juicy and well seasoned. I highly recommend the seitan gyro and seitan pesto melt. Some dishes were a little bland, such as the southern bowl. Overall would come here again!

Underwhelming - Edit
Came based on the reviews but this must have been an off day in the kitchen!
Read moreI’m giving 2 stars for the meh Mac & Cheese, but that was the highlight unfortunately. The kale was so super salty I didn’t get past a second bite, the pepper gravy was so peppery my mouth burned, and the seiten had such a hard breading on it that the knife had trouble cutting thru. I had to take it out and rip pieces off. Disappointing, given the reviews.
Pros: The Mac & Cheese was not over seasoned.
Cons: All flavors lost to over seasoning

So many good options - Edit
We went for lunch the first time, I really enjoyed the seitan pesto melt although some might say it’s a bit heavy/oily. My partner had the southern bowl and all the components were great, especially the mashed potatoes.
Read moreSecond time we went for Sunday brunch and got the loaded biscuits and gravy and sweet waffles. I like that each dish came with a side of your choice but it was a lot of food. Sweet waffles were a bit too sweet for my liking, still good though. Loaded biscuits and gravy had a lot of biscuit, in a good way I thought.
Pros: Good tasting food, Many options, Large portions

Will be back! - Edit
My husband and I were greeted by very friendly staff! Decided to start with the loaded nacho fries. Great portion size and extremely delicious. We split the Buffalo Mac and it came with a side salad. The cucumber mayo dressing was delish, and the salad was very fresh. I didn’t care for the pasta. The Buffalo Seitan on top was yummy though. We wanted dessert, but we were too full. Can’t wait to try brunch!

Cons: The pasta, Got bug bites, so we had to eat inside

No Modifications Allowed - Edit
1 - I almost didn’t come here at all bc I highly dislike the “No Substitutions/ No Modifications policy. I am EXTREMELY put off by this. Nonetheless, I gave them a couple of tries.
Read moreCOUNTRY BREAKFAST:
Comes with Fried Seitan (coating was good, but the seitan was way too thick for me. I only ate one piece.), Braised Kale (the kale was delicious!), Roasted Potatoes (very good), scrambled tofu (very bland. I added Cholula to bring it to life), and white pepper gravy. $17 for the meal. I wouldn’t order this meal again, but I’d order the braised kale.
HALF BISCUIT & White Pepper Gravy:
The biscuit was actually very good. It tasted like a southern homemade biscuit (similar to Popeye’s biscuits) and the gravy was delicious! A tad on the salty side, but I enjoyed it. I’d order the biscuits and gravy (B&G) if I came back for brunch again.
Again, I’m limited to what I can order here bc I don’t eat many things, and since they don’t allow modifications I chose to repeat-support other businesses during my month in Indy.
Cons: No substitutions/modifications allowed

Simply delicious - Edit
Stopped in recently for the first time to order food to go. Service was quick and friendly. My commute home was over an hour, but when I arrived the food was still warm and SO delicious! I ordered the Southern Bowl with a salad and a brownie for dessert. Will return anytime I’m near Indianapolis!!!

Cool spot with amazing selection! - Edit
The worst part of our visit to Three Carrots was deciding what to order! There were too many delicious-sounding favorites on the menu. I went with the seitan gyro, which was delicious - loved the tender seitan with a burst of garlic herb seasoning. I also got to steal a few tasty nachos from the rest of the group😄We sat on their lovely patio to eat and people watch.

We were big fans of Three Carrots! Each of the dishes we had included their house made seitan which was just packed full of flavor and a great texture. Would definitely go back again!

Hearty portions and good quality food. We had the loaded biscuits and gravy. Not a fan of the tofu scramble though. It had a very strong taste of turmeric or nutritional yeast or something and was acidic.

Go-to Spot in Indy - Edit
This is my favorite vegan restaurant in Indy! The portions are generous, the food is good and the staff is kind. Sometimes service can be a bit slow, but it’s worth the wait and I love supporting this fully vegan business. I’ve only had an issue one time when they gave me the wrong order - they fully comped my order and the person I was eating with!
Read moreI wish they had a location in downtown and also wish they deliver, but I’m happy to make the occasional trek to Fountain Square for this place. My favorite dish is the Southern Bowl. Least favorite is the mac n cheese since I personally don’t taste much flavor. Brunch on Sundays is a solid option, but good any time of day!
They recently changed how the ordering works - instead of sitting at a table and them taking your order there and bringing you the food, you now order at the bar and they bring the food out to you. I’m not the biggest fan of this change, but will continue to support this business!

Yummy Place - Edit
Went here post Indy Marathon to carb up! I got the Chili Mac Bowl and it was AMAZING. I added the chicken nugget type protein (fried seitan). The bowl came with a side and I chose the cesar salad and the dressing was very good too. We got the brussel sprouts as an app and it seemed small for the price and I like my homemade version better. This joint is not quite a sit down restaurant as you order at the bar and don't have a server but it was nice for people like us who don't want to be bothered.

Pretty Good - Edit
It was my first time here coming from out of town so knowing the menu was fully vegan was comforting. Overall the food was good-nothing over the top but not underwhelming. Pricing was pretty good for the portion size.
