Amazibg vegan high tea

High tea with views. The chocolate cake element of the high tea was one of the best i have had. The savoury elements were not as good anf a bit repetitive. Lots of vegan wine options and bubbles.

Lovely place, excellent knowledge

Great setting with views out over the sunsets, lovely proper vineyard restaurant environment. Service sounds a little hit and miss from the reviews but my dinner experience was definitely a HIT - our wait staff were impressively confident and casual in their knowledge of vegan wines/meals, and offered to adapt a dinner item from the lunch menu to expand the vegan options. They served a lovely gourmet burger, a hummus trio and a taco salad each with different delicious home-made sauces. Impressive, and next time I'm curious to try the eggplant thing!

Pros: Waiter happened to be an expert, Sophisticated but relaxed atmosphere

Cons: Food came a little slow but hey

Service let it down

Beautiful winery with great views but I found this really poor for vegan options. Went there yesterday as part of a horse trek and, granted, we got there just before 5pm, so things were winding down. They had stopped serving their main menu and were just serving cheese platters and wine. I asked if they could do a small platter of their vegan options from the normal platter without the cheese, and was told no. The waitress then made a big deal out of going to ask the chef if they could do a bowl of olives as a separate item! I get that it was later in the day but if you're still open maybe just do your job?!

Average

Not as many vegan items as I was expecting based on other reviews, just a bread entree, a salad and 3 of the vegetable sides are vegan. I had the salad which was super boring, had like 4 ingredients and nothing to speak of in terms of interesting textures, flavours or colour. It was $24 for basically a plate of cos lettuce. I also had a side of potatoes with caramelised onions, nice but pretty basic. Wine is yum though. 3 stars cause at least they have vegan options unlike most other wineries on Waiheke, although I had an incredible vegan feast at a wedding at Mudbrick so I would explore that potential option over Batch.

Would give 5 stars if I could!

After two weeks of difficulty being vegan in New Zealand, this restaurant was a joyful respite. They have a vegan appetizer, main, and dessert on the lunch menu. All were superb. I had the sourdough loaf w/veganized dip (they just use vegan cream instead), the lentil pie, and a quince cheesecake for dessert. All were delicious and very "haute cuisine," if you will. A must for vegans on Waiheke.

Pros: Clearly marked vegan items, Vegan options for all courses

Gorgeous setting

We had a lovely meal at the winery. I highly recommend the vegan version of the starter of cob loaf and butter. The butter was made of avocado and cashews and was absolutely delicious.
We had the taco salad for the main. This was nice but not enough of the corn chips and filling and way way too much lettuce. The dish was basically a massive amount of lettuce with a topping. The topping was so tasty but there just wasn't enough of it. After finishing all of that dish, I'll probably never be able to eat lettuce again.
They had a vegan dessert of chocolate cheesecake with coconut and vanilla cream but we didn't have time to try it.
I loved the location and there are fantastic views from the restaurant. Lovely staff. At the time of writing it is the only winery on the island with vegan options on the menu. I would come back but would have the vegan burger next time as I feel I have had my lifetime allowance of lettuce now with that taco salad.

Pros: yummy starter, vegan dessert option, great location

Cons: too much lettuce

Fabulous

In the restaurant at lunch they had 1 vegan main and 1 vegan dessert.. however, it's still worth the trip. The taco salad is the best I've ever had! Fresh ingredients and an abundance of flavour. Dessert was a chocolate cheese cake was strong, and yummy.

Amazing

Beautiful sunset dining and the vegan options were outstanding. I had the smashed avocado, heirloom tomato and five seed crackers for a starter and the vegan burger which consisted of a black bean, chickpea and mushroom pattie, handmade spelt bun, tomato relish, greens and a side of sweet potato wedges. The food is outstanding and I highly recommend.

Pros: Excellent food, Beautiful views, Good selection
