Simple quan chay vegetarian restaurant. Menu has English but none spoken by staff. Serves vegan noodle soups, mock meats, tofu in dishes, and desserts for which dairy might be used so ask i unsure. Note: Reported in January 2023 that English menu might not list ingredients correctly for some dishes - ask if unsure. Open Mon-Sun 9:00am-9:00pm.

Can’t compare to the eatery next door - Edit
Went there because the amazing eatery next door was closed. This restaurant serve the same kind of food but more expensive and less tasty. The staff looks kind of depressed, the atmosphere is a bit odd.
Read moreThe food was still decent and pretty cheap, we ate for two for around 150k, ordering 6 items.
Not sure if the place is 100% vegetarian though, the menu reads about chicken and other kinds of meat, not sure if they are mock meat.
Pros: Not very expensive, Easy to get full
Cons: Disappointing comparing to the one next door, Not-smiling staff

Terrible Food - Edit
They gave me an English menu which was double the price of the local menu. It took ages for them to take my order and when the food did arrive it was flavourless, small and evident that no effort had been put into it.
Read moreWhen I came to pay the lady tried to charge me double, aka the foreigner price, and I had to point out the difference in price. Would not recommend. There are plenty of other places nearby with much better food who don't discriminate.

Mightily unimpressed is an understatement - Edit
Whether or not this restaurant authentically represents vegan food is something I can’t comment on, but the pho (nuoc) noodle soup I ordered was small, not particularly flavourful and also not good value, as was the case with the other thing I ordered - “spring rolls”.
Read moreI could see a mistranslation in the menu from the start, but decided to go with it - to see what I would ultimately get. Up came a few tiny prawn cracker type things with a strange and tangy filling. Not impressed at all - especially at a grand total of 40,000 VND, when there are better, more serious places just around the corner as well as a short stroll away.
Pros: You can diet here
Cons: Small portions , Mistranslation

Not a vegetarian restaurant - Edit
I came here as the other vegan and vege places were closed. It's advertised as a vegetarian restaurant but there is meat and fish listed on the menu. I didn't trust the 'braised tofu in clay pot' I was given as I've never had tofu that looks and tastes that way. When I rechecked the menu using Google translate it has 'braised fish' as the Vietnamese translation. I didn't want to go through the drama and so are my rice, paid and left.
Read morePros: Some vegan-looking options
Cons: Meat and fish listed on the menu, I didn't trust the dish I was given was tofu, Not sure if they understand veganism

Decent - Edit
Ended up here after trying to eat at Thanh Lieu. Food was as you would expect for a quan chay place.

Not recommended - Edit
Ended up here because the place was full. It was entirely empty, the food came from the fridge and the spring rolls where molten chess in the spring roll exterior. I would say go there if your only goal is not to starve, but compared to the place next door it's to expensive for that.

Very basic, food ok - Edit
Also ended up here after trying to go to the higher-rated place down the street, but this time because that place said to me they were opening at 4pm (Happycow said it would be open). Got some basic noodles with veg and faux-beef. Not bad, not great, but maybe worth it if you're hankering for some mock meats!

Small portions but tasty - Edit
We ended up here as the other Chay eatery down the street was full. The other one is better value for money, this one is a little more expensive and the portions are smaller but the food was still really tasty

Small eatery in good location. - Edit
When looking for somewhere vegetarian friendly to eat we stumbled upon this place. It’s a little eatery in a good location - close to the walking street.
Read moreDespite what the other reviews have said, our food was delicious. The lemongrass mushroom was absolutely delightful and the mushroom fried rice was fresh and not oily. This place is a cross between between street and a local restaurant.
Beers are also pretty cheap compared to the walking street and some of the other areas.
Not a great deal of English spoken but the menu is in English.
I would have given a 3.5 if I could but 3 seemed too low.

Good - Edit
Portions were on the small side but all of our food was super tasty. We had clay pot tofu, lemongrass mushrooms and some noodles and rice.

Horrible food - Edit
Went there by mistake while looking for Thành Lieu, and it was the worst food I ever had the misfortune to eat. We ordered 2 noodle dishes and an unidentified appetizer that was definitely not the spring rolls we asked for.
Read moreNone of it was good. My noodles literally smelled like vomit, I'd rather not know what they put in there. I hate to waste food and I never do this, but we left the restaurant with most of the food untouched. Disgusting and a total waste of money. We had to go get dinner again at an other place afterwards. Avoid!! Would give 0 stars if I could.
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Disgusting food, not even cheap

Avoid! - Edit
We accidentally ended up here as we in fact wanted to go to Thahn Lieu just down the street. The fact that it was completely empty when we arrived should have served as a warning sign. The food was at least 2x as expensive as Thahn Lieu and did not taste very nice at all or fresh. My girlfriend’s stir fried noodles was brought out cold and she found it very unpleasant and while my dish was warm, the portion size was laughable for the price.

Racist and Money-Grubbing - Edit
Despite having already written a review for this establishment, another horrendous experience there compels me I to write another. The limited dining options created by most veggeries being closed on the 2nd and 16th of the Chinese-calendar month meant that my dining companion and I wound up, on our last night in Huế, with nowhere else to eat but here. The horrible food, tiny servings and horrendous overcharging were only exacerbated by the fact that local diners received substantial portions for regular prices. The woman who runs this establishment clearly only benefits from these two days per month, and when their popular neighbours close early. Avoid if possible.

so-so vegetarian street food - Edit
This street side eatery is conveniently located near the train station. The food isn't expensive but is the same price as better places in town. The food was oily though the service was prompt. Not bad for a quick bite but if you can, save your appetite for some of the better places in Hue.

nice - Edit
Nice basic place,
Read moreThey have an English menu, which made ordering much easier. I had the cassava cake and 'chicken' with lemongrass, both were good. Lady didn't speak much English and when I wanted to ask something she kept saying there was no meat in it, I found is very reassuring:)
It's walking distance from the train station.
