Great value for cold buffet - Edit
We went the first time at 6:50pm, and at first one of the client told us it was closed. Then the owner told us that almost everything was out but we could eat for free if we wanted. The evening buffet is actually open 5:30-6:30pm. The vegetables were cold but it was good and the owner refused to take our money.
Read moreWe returned the following day earlier, there was a lot of choice this time, with several tofus and fake meat. Everything except the rice was still cold though, so I guess this is to expect. The food is good, not amazing but nourishing, we filled our plates multiple time. 40k per person for the steamed rice, 45k for the fried rice. Great value. Can be a bit noisy when filled with locals.
Pros: Very cheap, Nice owner, Lots of choice, including tofu and proteins
Cons: Close early (6:30pm), Everything is cold except for the rice, Not quiet

40k Tasty Buffet - Edit
This is worth the walk out of the old town, it’s in a more local area so we were the only tourists there. Food was really good? Lots of different options and the staff were kind, we used google translate to talk. For 40k for all you can eat (no waste) and 3k for an iced tea it’s worth every penny

Super cheap buffet - Edit
Great options and definitely recommend for backpackers. 45k for fried rice buffet and only 3k for iced tea! Everything super delicious. No English speaking staff but just use a translator.😄

Disappointed... - Edit
After reading the recent reviews we went out of our way to eat there. It's cool that it's away from the touristy area, but the food was so so. At 4pm it was closed but we hung out outside and they opened 10mins later. I wonder if that's why the food didn't seem fresh (nor was it warm) - maybe going earlier would mean freshly prepared dishes. One of the ladies was playing videos with full volume on and the other lady disappeared in the kitchen, so it didn't feel welcoming either (we said thankyou and goodbye and there was no reply:))

Perfect - Edit
Amazing place out of the touristy area. Proprietor was very kind. I loved how everything tasted, so much variety and every dish was seasoned differently so the variety was incredible.

STUNNING FOOD! - Edit
Such a friendly male owner/memeber of staff. Said (Google translate) I can eat as much as I want for 45k and green tea too. The tofu was Devine, has some nuts, rice and a bunch of veggies. Got two plates gave him 60k as 45k seemed too cheap for that amazing food and at first said too much but then appreciated it😄

Good food that you can choose as a buffet and they have many options. They served me cold tea (I again recommend to try vietnamist drinks).

I wouldn't go out of my way to come here - Edit
Oily and wet is what describes most of the dishes on offer.
Read moreI was the only one in the restaurant for the hour I was there. I only spent so long as I ended up calling home. Even though I spent so long, I only went up twice, and this is from someone who ate 15 dishes at another buffet here in Hanoi!
You severe yourself rice from a big cooker on the floor. The veg looked depressing. The fried mushrooms were almost all just batter and the tofu was so saturated with flavourless oil, it soddened the whole plate.
For 40k, it's still great value but definitely not worth going out of your way to get to. Especially as you have to walk down the motorway and then across the bridge to get to it from the old quarter.
Pros: Good value for money
Cons: Oily, Flavourless

A nice, cozy meal - Edit
For 40k, you get a great value. There’s a nice mix of veggies, rice, and tofu with no limit to what you can eat. The tea was also some of the best I’ve had at a little quan chay here. It was a little crowded when I came and I had some confusion with the owners (I tried drinking my tea hot, they insisted I add water to make it cold- I wasn’t clear if that was a rule or if they thought I wanted it that way). Still, it was very nice overall.

Bit disappointing.. - Edit
We went there around 7 p.m. and we were the only guests. The elderly woman (owner?) acted annoyed and wasn't friendly at all. The two younger women were friendly and used translator to explain things to us.
Read moreThe fried rice was good and the fried things too! (But fried things are nearly alway good aren't they?)
The rest of the buffet was decent, everything cold and most of it tasted blend.
I wouldn't come back, didn't feel comfortable next to the grumpy woman.

Amazing!! - Edit
Authentic and affordable vietnamese food, buffet for just 40 000. Great variety of foods, ie. different tofu, vietnamese vegan sausage and vegan fried fish. Owners are super friendly even though they don't speak english. Our favourite visiting in Hanoi!

Favourite Buffet so far - Edit
It’s a great spot and worth getting out of old center for - it’s only a short walk.
Read moreYou can decide between noodles, rice or fried rice.
The buffet is 40k for steamed rice with all you can eat. Can go as many times, but please no leftovers. Owner is super friendly, speaks no English, but translates with google
The buffet was so fresh and fully equipped. Soup, tofu with Aubergine, tofu with tomato, beef and coconut, peanuts, enoki fried, pumpkin, steamed veggies and more. Very diverse
Everything vegan
More sauces, chilli and lime on table to enhance flavours. Was very well seasoned and just amazing
I think they use coconut oil for frying cause it tastes light and fresh
Didn’t see dessert.
Price is insanely cheap for this quality
Highly recommend #Veganuary
Pros: All vegan and delicious , Cheap all you can eat , Friendly owner

Just beyond perfection! - Edit
The food was incredible! It was fresh and once we put food on the plate the gentleman working there took it to warm it up!
Read moreThere was some tofu with dill!
I love dill and it was the first time I've tried something with this herb here in Vietnam. Just so flavourful.
The gentleman kindly asked us as well if we are full, and if not, he said just please take more😊

Gold Star Local Buffet - Edit
We tried out a lot of chay buffet's while here in Hanoi, this one might be the best one yet! The buffet features a huge selection of dishes, with a good balance between vegetable and protein. My highlight was a seaweed enoki roll that was outstanding, never had anything like it, and both tofu dishes.
Read moreYou pay 45k for the buffet with fried rice, 40k for the buffet with steamed rice, you don't have to specify, they just keep track if you've had fried rice. It's all self serve. You could also order noodles for 25k.
We were the only non locals there and it was quite busy but they quickly made room for us. There were two rooms for seating with an identical buffet, but with some other spots in between. So we went in one place and got escorted to a place about 5 meters further that was part of the same buffet. Everyone was very helpful and nice.
Pros: Local, Great selection, Affordable
