Very accommodating! - Edit
Just passing through. Went for breakfast and found they were accommodating. Had avocado on toast and sauerkraut and soup. Delicious! Love the mate tea drink too.

Vegan burger - Edit
Hippie vibe, interesting music choice, but incredible garden burger. I also often get the homemade granola sub soy milk, and it is so refreshing for breakfast. The service takes a long time, but the workers are very kind. They operate on island time out of a desire to escape the modern world.

NOT VEGAN - Edit
When I was a vegetarian and ate eggs and cheese, this was a fairly good restaurant. The place itself is great. Love the wait staff, too. But there is NO VEGAN selection at all. They really need to include some tofu options, at least.

Cons: Need VEGAN options.

I love Yellow Deli!! It’s affordable and the garden burger is so delicious!! It’s a veggie burger with avocado, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, mustard, and garlic spread ALL on a Kaiser roll served with your choice of veggies or chips!! 😋

Fantastic hippy/earthy atmosphere but slow, poor service and food mediocre - Edit
I've been to the Yellow Deli numerous times. Pro's: 1) Fantastic atmosphere - very hippy and earthy. 2) They have some vegetarian options. Con's: 1) Service is very slow. 2) Service is not great in general - we've had the same waitress a few times and she's messed up our orders and is just not polite or customer-service oriented. After my first time or two here, I wanted to keep coming because I just love the atmosphere so much. But with the mediocre food and poor customer service, I won't be going back there again. Sad. If you're a vegetarian, I would suggest going to Sluggo's in Chattanooga instead. Sluggo's doesn't have that great of an atmosphere (as compared to Yellow Deli), but their food is on point. Much better. And it's all vegan!

Worth a Trip - Edit
I have been coming to the Yellow Deli for years, and have always had a pleasant experience, here. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming, and very nice for studying or hanging out with friends. If you're passing through Chattanooga, it's a unique spot worth checking out - the restaurant itself is really beautiful!
Read moreYou've got a couple of options as a vegan, but the best one is the garden burger - which compared to other vegan burgers around town is delicious and wicked cheap! Just make sure to mention that you don't want coleslaw as a side, because it isn't vegan!
All and all, I highly recommend the Yellow Deli!
**take note: they are also closed Saturday!**
Pros: Lovely atmosphere, Good value, Decent portions

Interesting - Edit
I have read articles on this place how the workers are in a cult. If this is true and with along other findings, then the customers are benefiting their violent causes. If you are more concerned about the food, then here is my review I have eaten a vegan burger there once and it was not that great. It was more on the bland side. It use more sauces, and spices to excite the flavors more. I would, without a doubt, rather eat a burger from Sluggos.

I'm not much for conspiracy theories, but this is a cult. Lots of documentation about "Twelve Tribes" communities. Here's something from the local bunch: https://www.facebook.com/YellowDeliTruth

Exactly why I refuse to give money to these child abusers. Not worth finding the vegan options

just a taste - Edit
Saw their booth at the opening day of Chattanooga Market today. Wasn't hungry yet, but tried their green drink...WOW! That was awesome...can't wait for their new place to open in Brunswick-much closer to home!-so I can try some of their vegan fare.
