What a Welcome! Visit and RUN THE BRAE! - Edit
John McTaggart operates this hotel with his family. He is also the race director for a Donkey Brae run, as well as the owner of MccTaggarts down the street. he and his family could not be more friendly or welcoming. It was incredibly easy and delightful to be vegan here. The owners and chef were very familiar with how vegans eat, and there were both simple, child-friendly offerings and very sophisticated cooking for vegan adults. My kid had vegetarian baked beans and their "favorite chips" (wedge fries) of the trip, green peas, etc. I had what was simply the most delicious, layered and spicy curry that I have ever enjoyed (the vegetarian curry with Jasmine rice is vegan.) It was SO. GOOD. YA'ALL. They also offer a spicy chickpea burger, and the salads and the fajitas can be made vegan. They also offer non-alcoholic beer, and a vegetarian haggis. The hotel dates back to 1873, and the ambiance is second to none. The welcoming owner and his wife seated us without a reservation at a special table in the bar, and could not have been more accommodating. Loved our meal and stay here. Thank you John!!
