Disappointed. NO VEGAN FISH AND CHIPS ON MENU - Edit
Firstly the building is lovely. And the staff pleasant enough. But there are only 3 vegan options on the menu and one (The burger) is awful . So I couldn't give it more than 2 stars for the 2 meals that were ok. Not great just ok. Kids portions are tiny compared to other places.

Cons: Bland food , Not great options.

Good homely pub - Edit
Nice traditional pub with good choice of ales. Not a huge number of dishes for vegans, so lost one star, but a decent choice of a vegan burger, a baked potato a sandwich, a salad and even a pie with vegan gravy. Couple more options available for lacto vegetarians such as halloumi and chips.
Read morePrices are very reasonable. obviously not as big a choice as a vegan cafe but open in the evenings. Ideal if you are a vegan or vegetarian eating with omnivore friends or family, or if you want a good ale in a traditional pub rather than go to a restaurant.
Pros: Nice old pub with good ales, Good value , Decent choice

Delicious vegan fish and chips! - Edit
I couldn’t recommend The Windmill enough! The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and went out of their way to check what was suitable for me being vegan with a nut allergy. The vegan fish and chips was delicious! I also had three scoops of vanilla ice cream for dessert. They had other vegan options too, with a falafel burger on their main menu, and a chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream as another vegan dessert option.

Cons: Nothing - I loved it here!

Disappointed - Edit
Went with the intention of having vegan fish and chips and very disappointed to find they had none. The only other choice was a falafel burger. Unfortunately it came chared and over cooked. It also had a burger sauce on it which I doubt was vegan as my partner had the same sauce on her 'meat' burger. I also had vegan soup for my starter but the bread came with a dollop of butter on each slice.

Cons: Not sure they fully understand what vegan is.

Vegan fish & chips ! - Edit
The Windmill is an ancient pub with a lot of character but what makes it really worth a visit is it's one of the Greene King pubs that serves Vbites fish for their vegan fish and chips...and I can say that it is by far the best vegan fish and chips I've ever had. A salty fishy flavour with a good texture. Very enjoyable...and the chips are first class too.

Pros: Vegan fish and chips !
