A spectacular gem - all towns need a Wildcat - Edit
I loved this place. It was a real joy to come across The Wildcat. Great food - I had the quesadilla and then had a coffee and a cake later. Great ambience - I sat on my laptop and wrote for a couple of hours. It was an easy space to be in. People were friendly -customers and staff. The cafe exudes consciousness and I left feeling nourished. Plus the last time I came through Fort William was two years ago and I had found the town centre completely uninspiring - The Wildcat completely changes things and I'd completely make time to go there if I passed through again. In fact I'd love to see more places like The Wildcat. For me The Wildcat sets a new bar. Oh and another plus is that I really enjoyed the avaco-no concept they are working with...an avocado substitute I have never come across before...!

Wowza - Edit
Cozy little spot on High St- apple map put us down below but it was easy enough to figure out it was above where the activity is. The Special was Potato Spinach Tortilla that tasted like au gratin potatoes from my youth. Amazeballs. My hubby had a spicy sweet potato on locally made sourdough. I tried the peanut butter health bar and he had a date bar. All wonderful. I also found a white chocolate candy bar in the bulk food area in back.

The best place in Ft. William - Edit
My partner and I are not vegans, but we instantly fell in love with this cafe and went every day during our three-day stop in Fort William. It is all-vegan with a focus on low-waste (they don't offer to-go containers for food/drink but sell reusable ones or offer ceramic mugs to borrow) and livable wages, and even has a small bulk grocery section in the back. The food is almost entirely delicious (two of the specials missed the mark, a stringy kale soup and a cold tortilla dish -- but we went there three times and everything else was amazing, especially the sandwiches), the tea selection is prolific, and the desserts are scrumptious. It is a bit small, making seating sometimes difficult to find, but if you have to wait for a seat, it is well worth it.

A must visit in Fort William - Edit
We visited before heading up Ben Nevis, fuelling up on oats and takeaway sandwiches for the walk. Wish we’d had the opportunity to re-visit to try some cake - everything looked amazing! There was something for everyone on the menu, and the space was really cool.

Wonderful place - Edit
Found this place by complete accident but what a find. Always go in when I'm in Fort William. Coffee is great, food is amazing, the staff are all very friendly and I just love the whole feel of the place. With a zero waste shop section at the back it ticks all the boxes.

Amazing food - Edit
Maybe because I'd been staying in a tent all week and living off biscuits and crisps but their lasagne was one of the best things I'd ever eaten. I was expecting something a bit dry and "wholemeal" tasting when I saw lentil lasagne on the menu but it was a cheesy, rich dish with really nice salads. A huge plateful too.

Busy vegan cafe - Edit
After walking to the top of Ben Nevis, a date slice and a chai latte stretched out in the den could not have been more welcome. Great to see a vegan cafe this busy, service was quick and staff were very friendly.

Lovely vegan cafe - Edit
We had breakfast and lunch here the day after finishing the West Highland Way. It was a real treat, after the difficulty we had finding vegan options at some stops along the Way. For breakfast, I had baked beans on toast with vegan cheese and for lunch I had soup and I shared two pieces of cake with my partner. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming to everyone, but at the same time they didn’t hide their vegan agenda. It was also very nice to get a decent cup of vegan cappuccino (with oat milk).

Excellent cafe - Edit
I visited for breakfast and then lunch, after a week walking the West Highland Way.
Read moreI chatted with the owner over breakfast. She'd clearly reflected deeply on the purpose of the cafe and what she wanted it to achieve. I'm a new vegan, and she gave me some tips and a recipe recommendation.
The food was excellent. Lovely porridge and beans on toast to start my day (I had a big appetite after my walk). The kidney bean curry at lunchtime (a special) was delicious, hearty and filling, with a varied and enjoyable side salad.
I took 4 cakes away with me and enjoyed each of them. The chocolate fudge cake was probably the highlight.
Pros: Delicious and filling food, Genuinely ethically engaged, Friendly and cosy atmosphere

Best cake during Scotland trip - Edit
Having visited about a dozen vegan places during my last Scotland trip, the chocolate fudge cake and the concept of this place keep coming back to my mind. The cake was exceptionally soft and chocolaty! Besides serving vegan food, a lot of thoughts seem to have been put into making this place as sustainable and as accessible as possible.

Fantastic coffee, wonderful vegan food (including cake!) and a brilliant ethos. You can buy loose goods at the back of the cafe like nuts, oil and laundry detergent. We were visiting he highlands just before Christmas and thought we’d struck gold with this place. We were in there nearly every day even though we were staying on the other side of the loch :)
