Extensive menu - Edit
Stopped here on my way to New Jersey. Like 10 minutes off of exit 18 on 87. Has an extensive vegetarian/vegan menu but you need to ask for it. Portions were big and food was tasty!

We really liked the friendly vibe in the Wherehouse and the food was great. There are many vegan options. However, it is a bit expensive.... we still thought it was worth it and would come back.

Decor is soo cool they have records on the sealing and different metal signs above the bar area the menus… were news papers soo unique. I have the jackfruit boats super yummy definitely ask for a side bbq sauce vegan sour cream was a little bland tasted like creamy cold nothing not sure if they make their own or use store bought brand but it didn’t have a flavor but I still throughly enjoyed the meal!

Great vegan/vegetarian options and a casual atmosphere. The decor is creative and interesting. The employees are knowledgeable about what is/isn't vegan and are willing to make modifications to their non-vegan items. I got the BBQ jackfruit burger and it was delicious and a generous portion.

They can modify a lot to be vegan. The nachos were phenomenal. Music is cool. Ambiance is great. Couldn’t ask for more.

This place is ideal for a mixed group of vegans and non-vegans. They have 6 or 7 solid vegan entree options, including bean burgers, impossible burger, vegan shepard's pie etc. I had the chickpea masala dish and it was delicious. Funky atmosphere excellent service and great beer list. Winner.

Update 10/29/19: I ordered the same meal but unfortunately NOTHING was the same. the gravy was nonexistent, the “meat” was not browned, it tasted disgusting and I’m shocked to say this! It was my favorite meal. It tasted so bad, I called back afterwards to make sure the chef didnt change recently! I ordered it to go and i still tipped 20. I will try it one more time in the restaurant but I will NEVER order to go from them again!!! My original review below::

When I first walked it, I thought it was “interesting “. The menu is an old fashioned newspaper format and there are some interesting decorations. I ordered the Shepard’s pie-Veggie......ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! i wish i could swim in a pool of it!!!!!

Funky dive bar/biker bar vibe that looks frequented by locals. Vegan options are labeled, but it pays to ask your server if a veg option can be veganized. Excellent beers on tap, and live music some nights. We ate vegan penne sausage and a veganized shepherds pie (done by request). Both were tasty. The penne sausage was very good though the sauce was “okay.”

Great neighborhood spot w/serious veg/vegan foods. - Edit
The owners of this local hotspot have gone out of their way to make sure there’s plenty of options for everyone, including gluten free buns to veg/vegan options (3 different kinds of veggie burgers). That and a warm neighborhood vibe makes this a go to spot in the Hudson Valley.

They have a whole page of the menu dedicated to vegan / vegetarian options. We had the vegan nachos (yum!), the beyond meat burger (also yum!) and the chickpea Madagascar (super yum!). They also have great beers on tap and live music. We went for lunch when it was slow but will definitely be back to catch some live performances.

We tried the vegan chili over brown rice and the vegan Marsala (steamed broccoli, brown rice and marinated portobellos with a thick Marsala sauce) and really enjoyed both. Music was good, service was fast!

Don't be put off by the outside - Edit
My wife did not want to go into The Wherehouse at first because she felt it looked like a dive. Once we were inside her attitude changed. Take a trip back to the 60's. Lots of music memorabilia on the walls. Fantastic menu with lots of vegan choices. Even our meat eating friend chose and enjoyed a vegan dish. Our waitress couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Washington's Headquarters is down the street and has nice views of the Hudson River.
