Great local lunch & dinner spot

I mostly go here for dinner. Seasonal menu that rotates with a few standbys that change slightly. Several vegan entrees to choose from - seasonal quinoa (omit cheese), sweet potato quinoa burger (swap cheese for hummus), seasonal tacos (omit cheese and creama), veggie pasta (omit cheese). Wonderful cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. They used to have a vegan and gluten free berry crumble dessert that was delightful (hopefully will come back soon!). Love westside local and I try to go at least once a month. Make a reservation if you plan to go on the weekend!

Pros: Atmosphere, Clear menu to make vegan, Flavors

One of my favorite spots in KC

Love Westside Local! Plenty of tasty vegan options that are all well labeled on the menu. Their burger is 🤌🏻. Hoping they bring back their vegan crumbles for dessert!

Pros: Good mix of vegan options, Food is incredible, Clearly labeled menu

Lots of vegan options

Cute place, lots of vegan options with friendly staff. Marked vegan dishes on the menu with focus on farm to table food. Definitely recommend especially if you’ve got non-vegans in your group.

Pros: Marked vegan options, Friendly staff

Vegan Options

I got the veggie pasta (no cheese) and it was very tasty 😋 I also got a non alcoholic drink that was vegan. That was called "Blessed Be". Got a reservation. Fries were so good too (asked for vegan) ... The kind of fries that are extra crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside. Nice experience.

Pros: Vegan items clearly labeled , NF and GF options, Cool atmosphere - brick walls

Cons: Could be some more vegan options!

Great food, great people

Loved this place the second we walked in. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Their vegan quinoa burger was amazing, I asked for the vegan aioli on the side too.

Pricey but delicious

This is a great place to go if you’re willing to spend the money for some gourmet flavor. Also great for groups with vegans and non vegans dining together! I got the BLT with vegan sausage as a substitute. It was $19 ($2 extra for vegan meat) which is pricey for sure. Delicious and filling meal in a nice atmosphere!

Pros: Great vegan options, Nice staff, Great atmosphere/dog friendly

Cons: Pricey, Longer wait

Flavor explosion!

I loved the freshness of the cooked veggies that were steamed in white wine, not butter! The fried portobello sandwich came with not just regular red tomatoes, but heirloom tomatoes. There had to be just about half an avocado sliced on it too. Also, they make their own in-house ketchup that is bomb! The waitress was very educated in what vegan means and even double checked with us, to make sure we meant vegan. Please get a table in the back garden patio. Soooo dreamy! I would drive to KC every week for this place.

A favorite when I was vegetarian

This was a frequent stop when I was vegetarian. As a vegan, it's still good, but only a couple good options and some modifications are required on some things like the fries. The atmosphere is great, and it's a nice place to go with a group if you want a drink.

Good for mixed company.

Good veggie burger, (only wish they had vegan cheese!) ask for fries without Parmesan.

Best atmosphere and local food

This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to with non-vegans. It has a great atmosphere and has fresh and local ingredients. They have a cute outside area to sit as well. Drink menu is also unique and delicious.

Pros: Great atmosphere, Local ingredients

Cons: Not many vegan options, Semi-expensive

Cozy restaurant

I loved the interior of the restaurant and its vibe, but there were not too many vegan options on the menu. The food was good overall, though a little too greasy for my liking.

great atmosphere

This place had a great atmosphere and a cozy vibe. The vegan options were limited but I got the veggie burger with hummus instead of cheese and loved it. The fries are amazing! Ask for them without parmesan to make them vegan.

Amazing Local Ingredients!

I went here with a friend and got the mushroom pasta and it was absolutely amazing. Their menu is VERY vegetarian friendly with a lot of vegan options as well. Their staff was nice and attentive. They have some nice wine options too!

Pros: Vegetarian & Vegan Options, Nice somewhat hipster vibe, Good value

Cons: Can be a bit busy on weekends, Dress nice for dinner, Can get loud

Neat spot with creative menu and fresh ingredients

The Westside Local is nestled in an up-and-coming neighborhood and has a great semi-formal yet laidback feel to it. The menu is quite creative, with a variety of
"plates" to try (I got olives, French baguette, fresh fruit, and homemade potato chips), amazing salads (I got an arugula, candied walnut, pomegranate seed one), a to-die-for veggie burger, and two veganizable entrees (I got the seasonal quinoa with butternut squash, walnuts, roasted Brussels sprouts). Unfortunately their dessert were limited with no vegan options.

Pros: Marks menu with what can be made vegan, Great drinks, Sophisticated but not pretentious vibe

Cons: No dedicated parking, Reservations recommended on weekends, Brunch menu doesn't have very many vegan options
