Entrees, sandwiches, salads, and baked good. Cash or checks only. Directions: Go 1 block north of Hwy 314, off of Benton Station Rd, pass the church. Call if you need assistance. SHUT DOWN/REMOVED.
Along rural US-411 in SE Tennessee, the sign annoucing a "vegetarian" cafe was an unexpected , but welcome sight. This cafe, apparently 100% Vegan, is affiliated with the nearby Seventh Day Adventist church. It is open only during lunch hours and the limited choices change daily. Both items we had were excellent--great examples of inventive Vegan preparation.
There is abundant religious material on every table and in bookcases and racks. For that reason, we were surprised when the hostess started attempting to engage us in a religious dialog. Although we quickly changed the subject, we could have done without the uncomfortable moment.
