quite confused by the positive reviews - our experience was not good at all. food was below mediocre (for what it costs especially but really for any cost), service was not great either, and our glassware did not seem clean (in addition, the bottle in which tap water was served had visible stains on the outside and inside it had whatever water bottles have inside when they're not cleaned regularly).
Read moreone caveat is that we ordered from the brunch menu. it had thee variations for the vegan 'eggs', the one we ordered - 'steak and egg' ($18.75) was a tasteless jelly-like substance, much worse that what you'd have with e.g. 'justegg'. the 'egg'-based options are a third of what the brunch menu offers - how can they afford to serve something that bad representing that large of a part of their menu? the 'steak' was fine, the potatoes were excessively seasoned and the salad did not seem fresh.
the beyond burger ($16.75) tasted ok, the vegan cheese there was fine, but the fries were very mushy.
it's all quite disappointing for the price, but i would not come back even if the cost was cut in half.

Everything that we ordered, from the wine, to the appetizer, to the entrees was spectacular! I have nothing negative to say. The food was absolutely lovely, the service was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was spectacular.

We love this place! And it really has one of the coolest atmospheres/vibes I've seen at a vegan friendly spot. The staff is also really great. I especially love the chicken-less quesadillas and the tortellini. Gosh also the cheesecakes (try the white chocolate raspberry) are fantastic. #Veganuary

Though it has some meat options, it’s easily 60% vegan with a separate menu. Vegan pastas, tacos, tartines, burgers, salads, wraps and apps. Like the Brussels Sprout and cauliflower tacos equally!

I know they only allow 4 stars for not fully veg places. But this place has a WHOLE vegan menu. And then a nonvegan menu, but they push the vegan menu more.

The owners are lovely and all the staff is very sweet. The place is decorated gorgeously and I always have a lovely time.

Great vegan options in Astoria - Edit
I happened upon this restaurant a couple of summers ago on my way to the movie theater. Inside is very divey and I actually have never sat inside because the outside is so lovely. During covid they are delivering all the way to my area on the other side of Astoria. They have a ton of vegan options including desserts and what I have had has been very tasty. Also has vegan wine.

I’d give this place 5 stars if I could. The atmosphere and food were amazing. Went back for dinner and brunch! So many options! The vegan egg dishes were delicious! Dog friendly outdoor patio seating. Lovely!

Good Vegan Food - Edit
Fair warning. This is not a vegan only restaurant. However, they DO have a dedicated vegan menu. There are plenty of options (enough to be overwhelming) but a few options stand above the rest. Please keep in mind, I have been to many vegan places in NYC so I'm writing from that perspective.

The food however is unequivocally an A. I have only been here once but I was not crazy about the mac and cheese or the chicken taco. However the cauliflower taco, tofu crab cakes, and vegan chicken wrap are all amazing.
If you are thinking of coming here, it's well worth it. The place is a little small so it cannot accomodate large groups unless you call ahead (probably). But definitely worth it if you're looking for a causal spot or somewhere for a date. Music is pretty good too if that's your thing.

The manager told I wasn’t welcomed anymore because I complained about the salad! - Edit
I ordered a fish-less burger and ask if it would be possible to exchange the fries for a salad. When the dish came, the salad looked old and mushy. I called the server and showed him. He agreed with me, on his own words “I wouldn’t be happy if that was on my dish either”. 5 min later came someone (I assume it’s the manager) and said with an attitude “what is the problem?”. I explained again and he denied the salad was bad. He said I would need to pay extra if I wanted another side dish with the burger. I replied it was not fair to charge me for the salad. He left and then he stormed back and said I didn’t have to pay for my meal but I was not welcomed there anymore. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! Instead of giving a 5 dollar portion of fries, he lost the money of my whole bill and kicked me and my husband out!

Menu is half vegan!! - Edit
One of the best places I’ve ever been to. Both for brunch and for food in general. This place has been open for a bit but I was told about six months ago they changed their menu and made literally half the menu vegan. Amazing!! All their brunch cocktails are vegan all their dessert menus items are too. I had the vegan Mac n cheese truffle balls (vegan version) four types of vegan cheese!! Then for entree had one of the vegan tartines (French open sandwich) the smoked provolone & sausage. Soo good. The cheese here idk what brand they use it is on point. RoSann was our sever he’s great. Funny guy knows the menu inside and out. Super friendly and will explain to entire menu to should you have any questions.

Huge vegan menu! - Edit
Really cool place with a huge vegan menu with a lot of different kinds of food! The “crab” cakes were amazing! The truffle Mac & “cheese” was delicious but a bit soupy but we weren’t mad about it. We had the satan wrap which was very nice, the fries have bay seasoning which is yum! The tacos are also good (we had buffalo cauliflower & “fish”) but the cauliflower and “fish” inside is fried so that was a little much for us personally. They also have mini quesadillas you can get for the price of a taco which I think is adorable. We had the “chicken” one which tasted nice but was pretty dry. Really good & friendly service suspire there only being one server! I was impressed!

If I want to get brunch with my omni friends then this is the place to go. Or even just to go for brunch with my vegan friends then I go here. There is an entire separate vegan menu here for brunch and dinner.

“Healthy” but delicious vegan menu (salads, tartines, zucchini pasta, etc.). Not too expensive but the portions are not huge. There are fries if you just need some cheap calories.

Great vegan brunch options in Astoria! - Edit
Astoria has been lacking good vegan options, so I was so happy to find No5nyc! They have an entire vegan menu which is all organic. I tried the butternut squash tartine and Super C juice. They were out of vegan ricotta for the tartine, so they substituted it for vegan cheddar, and it was really good! The juice was amazing! They have a beautiful outdoor seating space! Very happy to have found this place!
