Gréât atmosphère, lovely afternoon tea (that you can even order at 10am!).

I have been wanting to try the Vanitea Room for awhile. We had a great time there. One can order afternoon tea even for 10am. Limited vegetarian and vegan options, although everything was really good. A good option, too, if one is going out with non-veg friends.

Pros: Gréât place for afternoon tea in Ottawa

Cons: Expensive, Limited vegan and vegetarian options.

Nice tea salon

It's a tea salon that serves breakfast/brunch. I had the Lovingly Spicy Vegan Benedict and it was great. Good portion. Not many vegan breakfast options (only 2) :
- Lovingly Spicy Vegan Benedict: coconut crusted tofu, vegan hollandaise sauce, roasted masala kale and crispy spiced chickpeas, served with breakfast potatoes.
- Indulgent Breakfest (vegan if you swap the sausages and eggs for tofu) : tofu, vegetables, garlic potatoes and toast.

I had the Lovingly Spicy Vegan Benedict and it was very good. Good portion. The place is very small.

Cons: Very small

Great for vegan brunch

I really enjoyed eating at The Vanitea Rooms and would definitely recommend making a reservation online prior to going as it is not a huge place and seemed pretty busy. Lovely, cosy environment with friendly staff and a great brunch menu that suited my bf (not vegan) and me (vegan) down to the ground. I had the Eggs Benny with a Twist, which was made with marinated tofu, vegan hollandaise, coconut bacon and garlic potatoes and it was delicious. Almond milk available for hot drinks. There was another vegan brunch option - Pulled Jackfruit Poutine, which also sounded really good. Worth a visit.
