Delicious - Edit
I would highly recommend the vegan haggis with whiskey sauce, it was great. The staff were very friendly and they have a lot of vegan options available, just ask for the vegan menu. It was very inexpensive too. Only strange thing was that everything was served with a side of french fries, even the mac and cheese (non-vegan) my brother ordered.

Tasty and friendly - Edit
We had the haggis fritters which were really good, big portions so good value. The garlic mushroom starter was amazing as well. Great service and friendly staff who was more than happy to cater to us being vegan.

Hidden gem - Edit
We've been for breakfast (2 vegans) and twice for family celebrations (2 vegans, 1 Coeliac and 1 fussy eater) so not an easy party to cater for but love the fact they have a vegan and gluten free menu with a variety of options. Good vibe and friendly staff and great to support a social enterprise too.

Wonderful breakfast - Edit
This was hands down the best meal I've had on this island so far. They offered a vegan breakfast, toasts and rolls offered vegan options as well.

Friendly staff, tasty food - Edit
Best vegan breakfast I’ve ever had. I always ask for ketchup, this time it sat untouched because it felt a sacrilege to put it on this amazing meal.

They always have a vegan sweet as well to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Oh dear - Edit
The service was poor. The starter took 30 minutes to arrive. The main course took a further full hour and even then there was something missing. The food was really awful. Three main courses went back with more than half of it still on the plate. (Greasy fritters. Burger with a smell of perfume served on a dirty wooden chopping board.) I saw a customer in the corner empty his mouth onto his table for some reason. We were there to celebrate a big family occasion. It was spoiled by our visit to the Swan.

Excellent food - Edit
From entering to leaving The Swan was so good. The Service felt like they really did care about their customers, we were asked about specific dietary requirements as soon as we went in, we were offered GF and vegan menus if required, which they were. And the choices made me happy that it wasn’t just a veg burger, but 3 vegan choices of starters, meal and puddings 😳👏. Oh and even the coffee was superb, and I’m fussy about my coffee. For a small village pub/restaurant, their service, food, surroundings and comfort is a must. Great value for money too. Thank you, I’ll def be back and recommend to everyone.

Delicious Tex Mex Skirt - Edit
I really enjoyed my meal at The Swan, I found it difficult to choose as the Vegan menu was so good and there were also several veggie options on the main menu. The service was great and the food reasonably priced too. Highly recommended. My husband ordered the Red Lentil curry which was also really tasty.

Gorgeous food in a lovely village - Edit
I was totally blown away by our meal at The Swan! Everything was delicious, the portions were huge and the staff are obviously really proud of the vegan menu! It’s one of the best meals out I’ve had.
Read moreAll the little things had been considered too...There was vegan butter for the soup, coleslaw with vegan mayo and vegan cheese with the veggie burger and a choice of either cream or ice cream (in a choice of 3 flavours!!) with the deserts.
And there’s a vegan breakfast menu too and apparently as well as the cakes on the menu there’s always a vegan cake on the cake stand as well as lazy day cakes for people coming in for cake and a cuppa.
Pros: Amazing food, It’s community owned , Fantastic staff
