Sushi Samurai rules! - Edit
Shushi Samurai is an amazing and friendly place in upper Queen Anne, Seattle. The owner and staff are great and the food and ambience are the best. Their creations are so good and real that they have to put large signs stating that the food is plant based only. Highly recommended!

The only 100% Vegan Sushi restaurant in Seattle….. and it’s excellent!! - Edit
Whether you are Vegan or not this place serves delicious high quality vegan sushi. The staff is attentive AF and well informed. Care, craft, and quality are paramount. It is run by two brothers, and it’s obvious they put their heart and soul into the food, and have been at this location for over 9 years. They have recently made the move to vegan sushi, out of concern for the environment and wanting to switch to ethically sourced food products.
Read moreThe sushi we ordered was amazing, whether you would like to stick to traditional veggie sushi, or if you want to try “salmon” or “tuna” sushi. The veggies are creative and not just boring California rolls, some with a spicy kick or Smokey flavor. Excellent textures, the “new samurai” roll was excellent and a crowd favorite. Our plate of sushi was presented beautifully and with care, sporting bright edible flowers.
We had a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to go back. We’ve spent the evening telling all our friends about it!
Pros: Excellent food, Good value , Attentive staff

Perfect sushi - Edit
Some of the best vegan sushi I've had. The vegan salmon, tuna, eel and California rolls all were fantastic. The staff (I believe it was the owner) was super knowledgeable about all questions and perfectly accommodated my friend who was seeking gluten-free options. #Veganuary

Literally the most amazing spot - Edit
My friend and I had the best meal here. Vegan sushi is so rare, especially stuff with mock seafoods. Every item was so clearly well- thought out and so good. Our waiter, who I think was also the owner, was the nicest guy and had plenty of banter. It was clear he was really wanting to make sure we had the best experience and meal possible. Stand-up fella, stand-up place. I’m going to be thinking of this meal for many years to come.

Pros: Price variability , Friendliness, Fake meat!!

Fully Vegan Sushi Restaurant! - Edit
This cozy neighborhood sushi restaurant was non-vegan for 10 years. It went exclusively vegan 3 months ago. We went for a birthday celebration and frankly I was nervous. I was worried it would either 1) taste bad-too fishy or off tasting or 2) be a creepy texture or 3) all the above. It wasn’t any of those things! The sushi tasted fresh-subtly like the ocean and no fishy flavor or objectionable textures. The presentation was gorgeous and flavors were great! We are already planning our next visit-so happy this restaurant made the switch! Pro tip: make a reservation bc they get really busy! Note: The seafood is konjac and potato starch sourced wholesale from San Diego.

Seattle Needed This - Edit
Seattle was in need of a 100% vegan sushi restaurant. I’m happy that this restaurant decided to make the transition to 100% plant-based.
Read moreI’ve been wanting to come here for a while and finally found time in the schedule to do so today. I pulled up to an empty restaurant and was seated promptly (made a reservation but was not needed, at the time). I asked the waiter what he recommended and he said for spicy the red dragon and for non-spicy the Seattle tempura. Great! I’ll take them both and the gyozas.
Gyozas arrived first and were good. I definitely enjoyed the chili sauce that accompanied them. Next came the sushi. The red dragon wasn’t too spicy. If I had to choose I enjoyed the Seattle tempura more.
Customer service was top-notch throughout my time there. I chatted with my waiter who happened to be the owners brother. I asked him if he was familiar with HappyCow and he stated he was and that many people have came and said they found this place on HappyCow. He was ecstatic about this.
Keep up the good work, HappyCow’ers! Let’s keep frequenting this Seattle gem.

Wow wow wow - Edit
This was a real treat. A traditional sushi restaurant with an all vegan menu. We were overwhelmed by all of the choices. The imitation fish looks very realistic but doesn’t taste “fishy,” which was fine by us. Everything was delicious! Our vegan kids got to try a California roll for the first time, and we also had several other “fancy” rolls (with eel, crab, salmon). Gorgeous presentation too. Would definitely go back the next time we’re in Seattle.

Amazing food - Edit
I haven’t had the opportunity to try much vegan sushi past the usual maki roll, and thankfully this place gave me the chance to try incredible and creative vegan rolls. The prawn tempura was delicious and actually tasted fairly fishy. The rolls I tried were all great, but my favorite was the Pacific Northwest, which had a delicious tanginess. My non-vegan dad thoroughly enjoyed his meal here too. And although the website warned of potential wait issues, our food came out pretty quick during a crowded time.

Stellar Flavors!!! - Edit
We absolutely loved our lunch here. They get very busy so plan for your food to take a little longer to get out. Vegan salmon, vegan tuna, vegan crab, vegan shrimp, everything! They have so many options to choose from and the flavors are devine. Cute little island family restaurant with outdoor seating as well. Everything is garnished with stunning edible orchids. Friendly.

Wonderful - Edit
So glad we tried this restaurant. Recently turned vegan and doing a fantastic job. This was the most convincing seafood sushi vegan we’ve had in the area. They were incredibly busy but we still received fantastic service- very personable. Happy to see they are doing so well after making the switch, I hope they continue to do great.

"True patience means bearing the unbearable." - Edit
They were too busy for walk-ups, so we made a reservation and returned 75 minutes later. We were seated on time, and our order was taken immediately. The server warned us there was a 30-40-minute wait for food. We received our appetizers fairly quickly, but waited over an hour for the sushi. I enjoyed the Kaiso (seasoned seaweed salad) more than the Gyozas (fried dumplings made with finely minced potato, cabbage, onion, carrot, tofu, mushrooms, and vermicelli). The cucumber roll and Inari Nigiri (sweet tofu) were good, but not worth an hour wait. My partner did order "fancier" rolls, though.

Great sushi, atmosphere, and presentation - Edit
My mom and I had dinner here and we had an amazing experience. The outdoor seating was very nice, and the ambience in general was perfect. We had the miso soup, gyoza, yoga roll, and crispy salmon roll. The gyoza was delicious and the miso soup was literally the best miso I've had in my entire life! There were so many creative options for sushi, theres something for literally everyone. If you don't like imitation meats, there are options that use tofu or just vegetables, such as the yoga roll. My mom loved her yoga roll and I really enjoyed the crispy salmon! I've never had fish sushi before so it was a very different experience from the plain vegetable rolls I usually get at sushi places. The tempura was so crispy and the salmon had great texture and flavor. Also, the presentation of the food was lovely. They even served edible orchid flowers!

This amazing sushi restaurant recently switched to being 100% vegan. I’m so happy about that. We had delicious rolls and nigiri. They were so pretty and so full of flavor. Don’t miss this spot. Plus, they’re in a cute commercial/shopping district at the top of Queen Anne.

Super Cute Spot - Edit
Small space for indoor seating, but they make up for it with a quaint cottage-style street patio. Rolls are delicious! Not sure what brands they use, but the salmon and tuna could easily fool a fish eater. Tofu katsu would be good for a kid or a non-sushi person. Staff was super friendly and sweet. They're new to the plant-based arena, so give them room to learn 😎
