Used to be great… - Edit
Such a shame to see they’ve got rid of the vegan menu and now only have a few vegan options. They used to have an amazing fysh and chips, one of the best I’ve had, and pies, roast dinners etc. Sad to see they’ve changed and now it’s very mediocre offerings.

Sad visit - Edit
They’ve changed their menu completely to hardly any vegan options. Very sad as we live so close and always used to visit.

Poor options as of March 24 - Edit
Decided to visit as the options looked amazing, only to be told that menu was no longer available. The only options now are 2 basic burgers, & a plain pizza.

Not as good as it used to be - Edit
We have visted loads if times over the years as it became a regular place for us given their incredible options and in-house seitan and the overall vegan friendly vibe it always had. The chef we met in 2022 was also super enthusiastic about vegan food too!
Read moreBut our last visit seemed like they have slashed their vegan menu as they only had 1 margarita pizza & 2 burgers on the menu for vegans.
We ordered the 2 burgers (moving mountains and lentil burger) and both options came with no salad or mayo, just burgers and cheese in a bun, 1 sauce and a small portion of chips. The lentil burger still felt like it was made in house and had great flavours. But you used to get the works including salad in your burger, a good portion of chips & a side of coleslaw which was a great accompaniment.
We really hope this was a 1 off and theres a reason for the limited options as they used to do amazing vegan pies, fish substitute, roasts and desserts. Here's hoping they bring back some of the heart of the old vegan menu soon 🤞🤞
Pros: Still has a homemade feel where possible, Allows dogs, Lovely staff
Cons: Options for Vegans was limited, Very few vegan marked beer on tap

Exceptional - Edit
Been here several times for family meals ( 11 of us). The vegan choices are terrific and the food is delicious. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Great pub food - Edit
Visited for beers with friends a while ago but had to come back after seeing the menu - over half is suitable for vegans.
Read moreOf the brewery's own beers, only two were vegan, but they have other drinks too.
My partner had the "hunters chicken", which is seitan topped with facon, vegan cheese and bbq sauce. Lots of flavour going on with this one.
I had the pie of the day, which was a sort of steak and ale type filling. Nice pastry and well filled pie.
Both meals were served with proper home made potato wedges and peas - mushy and garden.
It was quite salty for my palate and we felt both meals would have benefitted from a little more veg, but this is an impressive effort for a carnist pub and we would return if we were in the area.
Pros: Plenty of choice , Good service , Nice surroundings
Cons: Pricey for the area , Not much veg

Love coming here as they offer a good range and there's no missing out. A good menu generally, particularly enjoy the banana blossom fish n chips 😁

We’re only round the corner but visit fairly regular, they often change and improve the vegan menu which now has its own A4 double sided menu and more and more vegan ales when I visit too, they do pies, pizzas, sandwiches, ‘fish and chips’ and many more classic

Amazing Sunday Roast - Edit
Have not been here to experience the full vegan menu which looks impressive, but I did go for one of their Sunday roasts and surprisingly it was up there with the best. Very generous portions, very reasonably priced, and the seitan itself was delicious
