Trivia and Brussel Sprouts - Edit
Went for trivia night and a light dinner. Brussel sprouts were great, and I was glad to see virgin cocktails on the menu! Left shortly after eating because trivia was mid.

First Time 2, Second Time 0 - Edit
First time we went, we just had a beer at the bar and the bartender was nice enough. We didn’t eat that day but decided to go back and eat the next time.
Read moreWhen we walked in the 2nd night, we walked toward the bar. My husband smile at the bartender and asked, “all good if we sit here tonight?” as he usually does to spark conversation. She proceeded to give a dirty look as she said “uh… yea” and rolled her eyes. She then pointed to the QR code and said, “there’s the menu” and walked down to the other end of the bar and stood there with her arms crossed. At some point during my husband and I staring at each other in shock over the attitude, she had gone somewhere out of sight and now no one was at the bar. We sat there for a couple minutes and no one came back so we left.
I can promise you we will never go back… though by the previous reviews, it doesn’t look like we’re missing anything!

garden burger better than expected - Edit
like everyone else, i think this place needs work to be more vegan & vegetarian friendly, especially for a restaurant that says “great for vegans and vegetarians” on the front window. i was particularly bummed out by them having no milk alternatives for my coffee. but i did actually find the garden burger really yummy and creative😄

Passable in a pinch, not recommended to go for a meal - Edit
So first I want to open with this: the staff here are super friendly and cool. They were fantastic, my rating is based primarily on the food.
Read moreI had the garden burger with fries (fries need to be non-dusted to be vegan!), along with the tofu bites as an appetizer.
The tofu bites were fine, but they NEED to be dunked in a sauce, so choose a sauce you think you’ll like and you’ll be fine. They’re also VERY oily, so if you don’t like oily food, skip these, but if you want something with a nice, crispy consistency to munch on, these are fine.
The garden burger was not good. It’s basically a breaded burger made of a purée of vegetables with little to no seasoning. It tastes very bland and sauce only marginally helps. I had a hard time getting through mine, and there were times when I even felt a bit sick. I understand I didn’t need to eat the whole thing, but I don’t like to waste.
I’m not sure why they make this burger when they could easily sub it for something like an Impossible or Beyond burger, both of which are well received by the majority of vegans. Throw on some vegan mayo and Violife cheese, and you’ve got a great burger. But instead, they made their own veggie-based burger. It’s like the kind of food non-vegans think vegans eat: bland, tasteless, and made of vegetables.
The fries were fine, similarly to the tofu. Some might find them lacking in salt, but I thought they were alright.
My suggestion? This is a great place to grab a beer with friends and munch on some appetizers, but steer clear of their main dishes and eat at home instead.
Pros: Very kind and accommodating staff, Food is relatively in-expensive, Nice ambience
Cons: Food is bland, Not too many options, Vegan items not clearly labeled on digital menu

I couldn't agree more!! You hate to say anything negative about a restaurant that offers vegan options, but if they listened to suggestions like yours, it would rock!! Impossible Burger, Violife Cheese, vegan mayo (sold at every grocery store) and we'd be thrilled! Also make sure you announce it and SHARE so vegans know! I debated going back recently, and saw that nothing had changed, so I didn't . The vegan options are not good. The staff is awesome ; I agree.

Overpriced, avoid the tofu bites - Edit
The tofu bites were flash-fried, soggy, and just overall sad. I wouldn’t go here again.

Great experience! - Edit
We ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer which was delicious. I ordered the vegan burger with a side of "naked" fries as the menu suggests to make them vegan. The waitress asked if I was vegan so she could make that clear to the cook, which I thought was a nice touch. The burger was excellent! It had great flavor and was quite filling. The "naked" fries were a little plain, but still good.

Lackluster Experience - Edit
The Social Bar seems like a great dive bar. I went for happy hour and got a cheap beer.
Read moreThe only vegan marked happy hour option was a hummus plate, so pretty uninspiring. I asked if they could hold the animal products and they obliged, but like another reviewer noted, the onions and peppers tasty like they were cooked on the same griddle as meat products.
I didn't try any of the other vegan marked items, I honestly think it was only the hummus plate and the veggie burger.
Pros: dive bar
Cons: not many vegan options, cross contamination

Worst vegan burger ever - Edit
I applaud them for at least trying to put some vegan items on the menu, but the execution was so bad. Absolutely flavorless tofu bites appetizer, and probably the worst, mushiest, least flavorful vegan burger ever.

Cons: Chef is not well versed in vegan cooking

Great, clearly-labeled vegan options! - Edit
The tofu bites were so good we ordered a second serving with a different sauce! Hummus and chips was also delicious, and the garden burger was to die for. All the vegan and vegetarian choices are clearly labeled on the menu and the staff was super nice and accommodating.

be vigilant! - Edit
The Social deserves credit for emblazoning on both its front and rear facades the words Vegetarian and Vegan Options in lettering large enough to read from a car zooming by. So after two years of zooming by, and on a Monday when all-vegan Right Path Organic Café just a block away is closed, I decided to donate my body to science and conduct some animal experiments (the animals being my dinner companion and me) by trying some of their veg options, marked on their menu with two green leaves for vegetarian and four for vegan.
Read moreTo avoid any misunderstandings, I introduced ourselves as vegans to our waitress. The Brussels (misspelled on their menu singular "Brussel") Sprouts and Tofu Bites, both "flash fried" (whatever that means), were oily but good. But beware the Garden Burger (and guilty by association, the Black Bean Burger). I gagged after I swallowed one mouthful (my meal mate, a cautious female, did not swallow). I am quite sure it was fried on the same grill as the meat burgers, as the smell of meat permeated its crust. (I can’t attest that it tasted like meat, because after 53 years I have scant recollection what meat tastes like.) I very diplomatically voiced my concern to our waitress, who to her credit apologized with not a hint of defensiveness. She inferred that they usually are attentive to keeping meat out of the vegan dishes, and she suggested that I could speak to the manager about my concern, but I declined her kind offer. Yesterday was the Monday after the very busy Sailfest weekend, so maybe the cook was in recovery mode from being overworked, and maybe otherwise is attentive to keeping meat out of the vegan dishes, but just not yesterday. I hope not to discourage either the owners or the cooks from trying to accommodate cranky vegans such as I. Yet, if I ever return here to share a beer with a friend, I just won’t eat anything.
We vegheads must always be vigilant when eating out. Even if my accusation is unfounded that animal fat permeated the so-called vegan burger, this incident reminds me to favor veg restaurants over those merely veg-friendly, where all items on their vegan menus should add the advisory: "Manufactured in a facility that processes animal body parts. May contain meat."

Disappointed - Edit
We decided to try this restaurant over several other nearby options. The tofu bites and the brussel sprouts appetizer were quite good. However, the black bean burger and the garden burger were poorly cooked. The flavor was good but they were just mush. The accompanying fries were cold. Having read the reviews, I asked for a vegan menu but was told that it was just mixed in with the regular items.

Sports a number of vegetarian options that are absolutely delicious. Would recommend the black bean burger with avocado.

Delicious - Edit
The CHICKPEA fritters are great and I got them during happy hour for $2 off. The Thai black bean burger was different in a great way! Give them a try. Many good beers I'd you partake.
