Came all the way across the city for the promise of lovely cakes, only to see it randomly shut at 13:30, well within opening hours. Very frustrating when businesses don't care enough to be open when they say they will.

Grateful I Came Back - Edit
I am here in Berlin teaching a study abroad group, and I tried to come here the first time to no avail. They were already sold out of the sweet pastries about midday. I resolved to come back at opening hours, and I was not disappointed. I brought back a box of pastries to enjoy and to share with my colleagues, and everything was delicious. Highly recommend!

Very friendly.

I got the deal (four items for EUR 14) which was good value for me. Very delicious food and you can see into the kitchen also, which I love! I also think it's very good that they do a discount deal on a random box of yesterday's pastries.

We visited Berlin this week and found Berlin in general to be amazing for vegans, we didn't know how to choose, but even with so many choices we returned to The Sanctuary each day after finding it. The quality of the food is amazing, the options and creativity of the food is outstanding, what they sold isn't something I've been able to get elsewhere (stuffed croissants, strawberry and vanilla pastries etc). The store was very local and easy to get to (the bus stopped right outside the door). We were sad to wake up this morning back in the UK with no tasty breakfast!

An extraordinary vegan bakery. I had a vegan focaccia with wild broccoli and vegan salsiccia which was excellent, as was the espresso and the pistachio roll. Has take-away and a few seats inside and outside. Very friendly service.

Honestly cannot say how good the food is here; me and my omni friend went and were both blown away by how delicious the food was. We got the box of 4 for €14 and it seemed really reasonably priced for how good and big the food was - if you are vegan it’s a MUST visit!

Everything is vegan, but other than that there's plenty of room for improvement here: too fancy for cash (to be fair, staff did accept my exact amount), only throwaway items even if you're eating in, no access to a bathroom.. And yet people put up with this.

It is my new favourite! Every piece I tried was different, yet of supreme quality. Even a pistacho girella and pistacho cannoncino had different fillings, so both of them were worth trying. My recommendation is to get there early, just when they open, because the place is very popular, but no wonder, everything there is so delicious!

Compared to FREA Bakery, I liked The Sanctuary a lot more due to the overall selection, flavors, and execution. This is a more crowded place with less space to sit and not as much focus on the atmosphere, but it's definitely worth it if you mainly just care about how things taste.
Read moreThe Girella pistacchio was extremely delicious and had tons of filling. If you can try only one item, that's my recommendation. The pastry I had at FREA Bakery could have used a lot more filling and excitement, which is exactly what was fixed by coming here. I'm glad I found this spot.
At noon, they were already running out of the top items. Get here early.

make sure you get there hungry, cause everything looks awesome! I’ve been unsuccessfully looking for a place like that when in Naples. definitely worth visiting, even for buying sth to go. not much space inside and for some the sweets might be too heavy. I didn’t try any coffee though.
