I had ordered their vegan chili with nachos, cheese and coleslaw. I was delicious and I wish it had more beans for the quantity of nachos that I had. It was plenty for me someone who doesn't eat a lot. What impressed me is that they had separate squeezy bottles for vegan sauces. For a place that's not fully vegan - that's an extra thought, I think.

Fabulous Vegan Burgers - Edit
Visited The Round for dinner as they have a choice of four vegan burgers. It's reassuring when the waiter brought clearly labelled squeezy bottles of mayo and chipotle mayo to the table..ordered a courgey pike and beet burger one with sweet potato fries and one crinkle fries. The burgers were delicious and fresh and came with a vegan flag on to identify them..Great service from Nacho at front of house...Would definitely revisit.

Ate here a couple of times during our stay. Love the eastern fells burger and the crinkly chips are good. Best time to go is between 4-6pm to beat the rush. Outside terrace is good on a warm day.

Luckily arrived at The Round when there were no queues, so got straight in and seated. I was excited by the bar food menu which featured 3 vegan burgers, I went for the green gable burger and sweet potato fries. Food came quickly and staff were friendly, but I was disappointed by the burger. I think some of the previous reviews overhyped this place. Maybe the fake meat pate was the better option?

We queued about 30m outside in the cold for this dinner. Absolutely worth it. Love it.

I had the kale spinach pea one,bunless with salad, which was dressed and had other diced veggies in. Side of sweet potato fries. Vegan dips a plenty brought to table. Also ordered a side of lentil chilli. Sooo good. A bit smokey. A bit spicy.
Dessert option available but too full.
2 soft drinks. 1 burger. 2 sides were 27. Added up quick. Only down side.

Great, loved the Sharp Vedge burger. The mushroom and bean patty was really good, great texture and taste.
Read moreI also tried the Beet The Pack one, I didn’t love it as much but still pretty good. Worth noting that it’s no longer a beetroot patty (so not sure why the name is the same as there’s not actually anything beetroot about it…) it’s now a mock meat patty by Taste & Glory which was fine but I much prefer a veg or bean based patty.
Super crinkly fries were a decent choice but the sweet potato fries just beat them.
Great place that often has trail running or hiking competitions going on where they donate to local projects.
Staff were great and checked if you wanted veggie or vegan when you ordered 👍

Burger was good and they had vegan sticky toffee pudding. Nice laid back feel to the pub and staff were friendly. Could do with a few more vegan options!

Keswick was crazy busy when we visited (August 2021) so it was tricky finding somewhere for dinner (should have booked ahead!) but The Round was a good option as they only take walk-in's so after a short wait we were able to get a table.

Amazing vegan burger - Edit
The Round is a really welcoming and fun pub/restaurant. The Beet The Pack burger was amazing, and there were plenty of vegan options to choose from, including a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. The service was also excellent.
