I love that they had several vegan options and a lot of clearly marked options that could be made vegan. They also had a vegan brownie and vegan sauces.
Read moreI ordered the Crispy PBT. It was pretty good but not super flavorful. I expected something super tangy bc of the pickles and pickle brined tofu. The best part was the vegan dressing on the side salad. The sweet potato fries were really good!

Excellent entrée options - Edit
I've never had a meal at The Root that wasn't stellar. I love the pickle brined tofu. They also have a great creamy vegan salad dressing. The one downside to The Root is that it lacks a regular vegan offering on the dessert menu. You can go across the street to Loblolly for vegan ice cream, though, which is what I typically do when I dine at The Root.

We were driving through Little Rock and decided to check out this place. It was definitely not a disappointment. Friendly staff, delicious food and just love the entire vibe of this place. Will definitely be back if we are passing through this way.

I had the bahn mi made vegan and the sweet potato curry while visiting the Root. The bahn mi came with a salad, but I’m not sure if the dressing was vegan so I didn’t eat it. I waited in line for about 30 minutes to place my order, but the food came out pretty quick.

Amazing house salad with clearly labeled instructions for vegan options. I omitted feta and added both the tofu (pickle brine tofu) and grilled shiitakes. Lettuce was fresh/local from the Nurserie. Clear vegan labels on menu with multiple options. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Queer friendly. Racially diverse and age diverse clientele. Clearly sanitized and clean tables. Local coffee. Table markers give shout-outs to other local businesses, sweet.

Cute atmosphere, tofu was okay - Edit
We got our order to-go, but I enjoyed sitting in the building while I was waiting for them to finish it and staff was very nice. My partner really liked the biscuit breakfast sandwich, but my tofu scrambler was really just okay. I wanted a little more flavor and substance from it, but the sauce they put on the side helped some. If I’m ever in the area again I’d love to come back here and try something else on the menu.

I had the mushroom burger and eggplant fries (not available all the time). I was very happy with this meal. Everything tasted excellent and was filling. Not all menu items are vegan, so be mindful what you order or ask first.

My husband and I went to The Root Cafe for breakfast after seeing that they had some vegan options. Definitely loved the vibe- very inclusive and colorful! They can adjust some of their vegetarian menu items to make them vegan. I got the tofu scrambler and my husband got the breakfast banh mi. Both were tasty but the banh mi is definitely a deconstructed banh mi (there was no baguette, just a few small pieces of toasted bread). This was not at all what as expected from the description but it was still pretty tasty. The tofu in the scramble and the tofu in the banh mi tasted the same- there was some kind of curry (?) flavor to it- good, but it would have been cool if they tasted different. The coffee (with soy milk) and fresh-squeezed orange juice were delicious! Definitely would have gone back if we were in Little Rock longer.

This is a neat place. We sat in the little garden area with our dogs. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the crispy PBT and the spicy bahn mi. We also had the potato and sweet potato fries with vegan sauce. Everything tasted very good.

I was in Little Rock for 24 hours and I went to the root cafe twice for lunch. The workers were so friendly and the space was beautiful (though I took to go both times). The food was EXCELLENT— I got the vegan Banh Mi sandwich and the mushroom burger made vegan. Delicious.

We stopped here while traveling. The place is super cute and there is on site parking. There is also plenty of outdoor seating. The food left a lot to be desired for vegans. There is only 1 vegan breakfast option. They call it a tofu scramble, but it's just chopped tofu & a side salad. Not exactly my idea of breakfast. However, their dressings and sauces are legit! If you're vegetarian, this would be a great option.
