Consistently good Chinese

This used to be my 'go to' Chinese restaurant when I lived near Manchester, and I recently had the opportunity to revisit it. The menu had changed since my last visit, and didn't include my favourite dish (tofu in szechuan sauce), but they made it for us on request. The food was as tasty as ever, but unsurprisingly was considerably more expensive these days. Still relatively good value for a city-centre restaurant though. Would happily revisit in future.

Pros: Generous portions: 1 main dish is sufficient for 2, Chilled vibe in centre of the city

Cons: Service can sometimes be a bit curt, Increased prices!

Mixed Experience

Very welcoming restaurant, with a good range of vegan options and lovely interior.

From the menu we ordered the frittered garlic mushrooms, sweet and sour mock chicken, an aubergine and tofu sichuan and a tofu and vegetable curry.

However, after placing our order staff informed us that the curry contained milk, but made a vegan one especially for us, which was a lovely gesture.

The shared frittered garlic mushrooms were excellent, as was the sweet and sour mock chicken, which was packed full of flavour, with superbly textured mock chicken.

I also liked the sichuan, but my wife wasn't too keen. We all agreed that the curry was lacking depth of flavour though.
