Mid-Covid-19 Visit (Aug 30th 2020) - Edit
Our party consisted of 4 adults (one pescatarian, one vegan, 2 omnis), and 3 small dogs. They don't allow dogs inside but there's a large garden with plenty of space and cover to eat outside. The main menu didn't have any marked allergens (bearing in mind here that with government guidelines regarding single use menus, they're having to print out a4 paper menus so this might not usually be the case, also it was Sunday so perhaps the midweek menu is different) however when I asked the server about vegan options he produced the gluten and dairy free menu (uploaded to view).
Read moreStarter: The soup of the day was the only meat free starter on the specialist menu, it had been confirmed as cauliflower and cheddar however they brought out a separate dairy free version for me, along with special bread.
Main: My main was a mushroom and walnut tagliatelle bolognese, *if you don't like parsley ask for it without, it wasn't stated on the menu and they garnished it too heavily for me to pick off*
The fish option for our pescatarian had a chorizo and pea sauce, which they couldn't eat but we didn't ask if there was an alternative to be fair.
Dessert: The desserts were incredible! I've uploaded a photo of the brownie with salted caramel ice cream - assured by the server, completely vegan and tasted delicious! 😋
Overall a nice experience but it would be good if they had more vegan/veggie choices - if there are veggies who don't eat mushrooms visiting they'd be stuck for options!
Reasonably priced - worked out about £30ph with 3 courses, coffees and drinks
Recommend a visit but call ahead to talk through what they can do for you - options may be limited due to pandemic times😄
Pros: Food was tasty , 2 vegan dessert options (not sorbet or fruit!), Polite and friendly staff
Cons: Parsley garnish not mentioned on menu, Fish main had meat sauce, no veg option stated, Only one vegan starter and main option
