Amazing Coffee; Needs More for Vegans.

This coffee shop is now called Tŷ Coets (Coach House). They still operate as a coffee shop and still have the picnic benches outside in addition to a couple of tables inside. Tŷ Coets specialise in coffee and bagels, and they also sell cakes and some snacks such as crisps. The new coffee shop seems to be affiliated with the nearby Tŷ Afon country house also situated in Beddgelert. I have updated Happycow on these changes.

I stopped by hoping to enjoy some coffee and cake outside. There were no labelled vegan options in the bagel display in the window, and there were also no labelled cakes inside. I asked a staff member about vegan cakes and was told that they did not have any that day. I ordered an Iced Latte with Oat Milk. The iced coffee was honestly amazing, easily one of the best I've had, but it was a little disappointing to discover that they seemed to serve all coffees in disposable cups as well as serving cakes on disposable trays. There were no bins outdoors to place the rubbish in, let alone recycling bins to responsibly dispose of waste.

As Tŷ Coets isn't even listed on Google yet and that The Real Coffee Stop was still operating in mid/late 2024, I get the impression Tŷ Coets has only recently been established. I will, therefore, visit again at a later time to see if the coffee shop has become any more vegan friendly and to report any other changes.

Pros: Loved the Coffee, Plant Milks Available

Cons: Nothing for Vegans to Eat

Very friendly

Nice little cafe in a nice little village! Veeeery friendly and dog-friendly (treats are waiting for them😉) staff and nice opportunities to sit outside. We came quite late so the only vegan option still available was a very chocolaty glutenfree brownie. They also offer oatmilk for the coffee.

Great for a packed lunch

We picked up some food for our walk up Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa the other day and it kept us going! I had the vegan baguette (falafel, hummus and chilli sauce), followed by a chocolate brownie. Both were delicious, and I'm not just saying this because I was halfway up a mountain and starving.

Pros: There are vegan options, Good to takeaway, Great brownie
