Not too great - Edit
One star for having some options, but the prices were not worth what you get in return IMO. As a previous review mentioned, “chicken” burger was not what you’d expect. Flavour was okay but it should have a different name. Partner had the same and doesn’t mind the jackfruit.

They don’t have the vegan beef burger and their chicken patty was from jackfruit which was ok but definitely not a chicken burger.

Nice atmosphere, does have a pokies corner though. Nice seating option upstairs too. Very welcoming staff. Vegetarian nachos, breakfast and burgers, should all be able to be made vegan just be very clear with the staff.

Awful roast vegetable salad - Edit
Venue was fine, but roast vegetable salad a complete waste of $24. A handful of salad greens and the main roast vegetable was potato. A few bits of orange vegetable (carrot and?), about 10 untoasted sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds. I had dressing in the side, a mayo something. Salad was tasteless, boring and a waste of money.

The perfect place after a hike - Edit
Unpretentious, seriously good grub - the Ranch offered me everything I was longing for after a hike and all that at absolutely acceptable prices. And they are open in winter (unlike most of Te Anau which goes into hibernation for the off-season). I'd suggest to ask the waiter about vegan options as the menu is not very clear in some cases. That was how I found out that they have a vegan dessert! Wow, I usually don't even bother to look at the dessert menu as I never find anything for me on there. But when they mentioned that they have vegan ice cream and they can make the "berry fruit parfait" with the vegan ice cream and without the whipped cream, I couldn't believe my ears. I told them they have to put "VG option available" next to it on the menu otherwise no vegan will notice it.
