5 Stars!! Terrific food! - Edit
Great food and very cool vibe. Arrived before lunch and had choice of seating. Place was packed before our food arrived. Well worth the wait, if you have to. Very glad to have establishments like Planet Diner including EVERYONE!
Read moreP.S. - Happy Cow does not allow 5 star reviews for restaurants that serve non-vegan items. What a terrible choice. It means that amazing restaurants who CATER to the vegan lifestyle will never get the 5 star review they deserve. It’s an absolute shame. It’s exclusive. Be inclusive, Happy Cow. Don’t discriminate.

Where herbivores can take their carnivores - Edit
“Where herbivores can take their carnivores” is their motto and it is so accurate. It’s unfortunate that HappyCow won’t let you rate all businesses 5 stars, because I would give them a 5 star. I think it’s very smart that they do offer some meat/cheese options for the carnivores so that everyone can dine here. The waffles and doughnuts were delicious!

Awesome all around! - Edit
I’ve only had great experiences with Planet Diner, whether eating in or taking out. The whole menu is awesome, along with their donuts and baked goods! Super friendly staff, fun atmosphere, and decent prices. There are even two non-vegan options for your omni friends. My go-to in Stratford!

A place where Herbivores can bring their Carnivores. - Edit
As much as I prefer a completely Vegan menu, this is a great place to take your carnivore friends to expose them to vegan options. Had the chick’un burger the first day. The piece of chick’un was nice and thick, the sandwich wouldn’t fit my mouth! Flavour-wise the chick’un itself wasn’t overly flavourful, but had it with the buffalo butter, which made it juicy and delicious… and quite messy to eat. Trying to watch my calories, so had it with salad instead of fries. Wasn’t going to have a donut, but then remembered someone else mentioning them on here and so I thought I better try one. So they are tasty and HUGE. So much for keeping the calories down. Took my non-vegan adult son there the very next day. He said the vegan poutine was delicious. I had the Southern Combo. Same chick’un as in the burger, but two pieces, and with bbq sauce, and Mac & Cheeze. Probably not as healthy as a raw vegan food, but super comfort food. Highly recommend this place!

I love this restaurant! All the vegan options are delicious.
Read moreIt just sadens me that they still sell dead pigs for the "carnivors". The "carnivors" can eat vegan, so why give them a dead animal option?
Pros: Almost full vegan menu, My none vegan family and friends loved the food, They have vegan donuts!

Great customer service AND donuts! - Edit
I ordered 2 cupcakes for Valentine's Day. Unfortunately the batch didn't turn out but to rectify it, she replaced them with 3 brownies (the icing was to die for) and 2 peanut butter donuts! Omg they were incredible!

Deserves 5 Stars - Edit
They have only a couple things that are meat based. This is the best vegan restaurant we’ve been to in ages. The food has incredible flavour. If you didn’t know this place was vegan, you wouldn’t know by tasting the food.

Tasty comfort food - Edit
This diner is 90% plant based so it is a good option for vegans and omnivores. I had the Southern Platter—Mac and cheese, chick’un strips with bbq sauce, and slaw. The chick’un was fried perfectly and everything else was great. My friend, who is an omnivore, has the chick’un parm. It convinced him he could give up chicken! We split the nacho fries as an appetizer. The cheese sauce (cashew and nutritional yeast I think) was yummy, but the fries were only okay. I’d opt for a salad or the sweet potato fries if you need to choose a side. We split an enormous vegan donut for dessert. Yum!

Great place to bring your awkward carnivores - Edit
My wife and I are newly vegan. We struggle to find places where we can go with our carnivorous friends and enjoy a good meal. This place does offer a couple of tasty dishes for those friends. Also, it’s fun to watch them experiment with Vegan food and realize it doesn’t have to just be power bowls. The staff is super friendly and the bright environment and toe tapping music makes for a great customer experience.

Thanks to the happy cow app we literally planned our route so my pregnant ass could stop here on the way home from my partners family cottage. It was absolutely the most delicious brunch I’ve had in a long time. I was really really happy about the donuts too. Service was friendly and wonderful. Will be going out of our way to come here again this summer!👌

Delicious, lovely staff - Edit
I'm so delighted Planet Diner exists, since I come to Stratford every year for the Festival and have bemoaned the lack of veg options. They do serve meat but even a mostly-veg restaurant is rare outside of major urban centres, so I'll happily take it. (It also means you can take your parents partners here without complaints, so there's an upside.) The menu is great including an all-day breakfast option and Sunday brunch. I got a donut for the trip home after the play and it was delicious too.
